A bit of a disappointing experience. My honest review.
English menu option is available. Staff were very friendly and the service was great.
Seating charge of 600 yen per person, they did not tell us about this seating charge so it was quite a shock when we got our bill. I understand this is a normal practice for restaurants in Japan, however not all of them do this so it would be nice to know beforehand.
The food is a reasonable price. We ordered the straw grilled chicken. The seasoning and taste was excellent, however the chicken was extremely chewy. It was hard to imagine which part of the chicken they used, it was THAT chewy.
Next we ordered the traditionally grilled Miso Black Cod. Black cod in our experience has always been very buttery tasting, not fishy. I think this black cod might have been a bit old, because it was quite fishy and unlike black cod we have eaten before. Also, extremely salty, although that's to be expected with the miso I suppose.
We then tried meat shumai. It was just okay.
Overall, I disliked that we weren't warned about the seating charge. The food was quite disappointing. I can imagine it's difficult for seafood restaurants to keep everything super fresh, it's just unfortunate when you get the end of the week seafood. I would say this was about 3,000 yen per...
Read moreWe should have read the reviews before coming here. If you order through the qr code you need the line app, which we did not have so we ordered with the service staff instead who were very pleasant. We ordered 2 dishes each but they did not cook half of our order. The food took so long to come initially that we didn't ask for the remaining order. The food was okay. Not the best or the worst, a bit flavourless and not worth the wait. The table fee of 1200yen ended up costing more than the food we got, and there was no warning that this would be added so it was a surprise to see it on the bill, having not seen this...
Read moreAnother nice local izakaya place down the street. The place is quite spacious so we were able to get seated right away.
We were offered Otoshi right away. We also ordered few items from the menu to go with our highballs. The dishes are prepared on the salty side for my liking, but I suppose this helps increase highball consumptions.
The wait staff was fast and professional to bring the orders over. As the ordering here is done via the digital menu, it’s missing a bit of the fun interaction element with the wait staff in Izakaya...
