I seldom write good reviews and this shop is one of the reasons why.
I rated 1 star for food because, (i ordered the katsu fillet on rice) the pork katsu was cooked in batches awhile ago, the chef just reheated it on fire, and added two eggs (that turned out undercooked, the egg white was still transparent) Rice was okay, but its like going to a buffet to eat salad. there is point.
We also had the Kushiage, Sashimi and Stewed Beef Set, the beef was good and tender (though precooked) Sashimi (chewy) and Kushiage (fried food i guess) was okay, nothing exceptional but for 2,600¥ you would expect a lot more.
Service was alright, a previous poster mentioned that they rush you to order and forced you to order a drink, yes. that did happen.
Atmosphere was okay, not too many people, nice small compact design, enough for you to eat and go.
Pricing isn’t cheap as well, food runs roughly about 1,600¥ (before the forced drink upon seating)
Overall, It’s a sub-par place to grab a meal and go, nothing fantastic, definitely can give it a miss if you’re a tourist looking to try Authentic Japanese Cuisine, you can find those anywhere in the alleys.
P.s, there is no locals that dine here. that should be a point...
Read moreWe came to this lovely spot for some sake and light bites and were welcomed warmly by the entire staff. As it wasn't too busy the servers were a bit intrusive, but still pleasant. A few complimentary items arrived, which were quite delicious, including chawanmushi and a crisp vegetable crudite bowl with miso paste. The fried skewers were outstanding and paired nicely with a cold, citrus-tinged sake they offered along with an assortment of beautiful sake cups to choose from. We tried the scallop, maitake mushroom and tiger prawn skewers. This is the only restaurant we visited in Tokyo that charged a "table charge," which was slightly off-putting at 800 Yen per person. I guess that covers the cost of the complimentary items? Or maybe just reserved for foreigners? Either way, it was a surprise ending that seems worth...
Read moreThis was an amazing katsudon, one of the best meals I’ve had in Japan.
I’ve tried many different katsudon across the country, and I have to say, this one feels different and special.
It has the traditional taste you’d expect, but at the same time, a refined, almost classy flavor. It even includes nori and other vegetables you don’t usually find in katsudon.
The soba was also fantastic. It’s handmade, and you can tell the noodles are slightly fatty, with a deep, rich flavor.
Totally recommended 10/10
P.D.: You can’t see the photos of the noodles because it’s the first...
