Was craving for Middle Eastern food and this place delivered it in an absolutely delicious way. It is located inside a food complex near Hiro-o station. It looked like all restaurants in there were blending together but separated by their small kitchen counters. With that said, the seating area for this restaurant is quite limited, around 4-5 counter seats and one to two small tables. We had to reserve online through the link on maps before hand which wasn’t a hassle. The food was absolutely delicious. I went for the lamb pita sandwich and mezze plate. They also have vegan options and can customise certain dishes to vegan as well which was also a very interesting touch and take for Middle Eastern food. Everything was fresh and tasted perfect. The price for all dishes was a bit on the higher side for me but was definitely worth it. Would see myself dropping by here once in few months to grab a quick bite! Also the American chef was really friendly and she struck up a nice convo with us while she continued to cook as well. Overall a chill and nice...

I've been going to Salam since shortly after they opened during covid. From meals by myself, with my partner to business lunches, EVERY meal has been outstanding and the service, top notch!
Sometimes when I arrive before the rush, Chef Rachel teaches me and whomever is with me about the menu she developed, and is very knowledgeable about the delicious natural wine selection she has curated.
Chef and the small team there go out of their way to make really tasty, fresh Middle Eastern food with a warm and welcoming attitude where i nearly feel like I am at home.
Some people mention it's pricy however I have to disagree. Sure. it's not cheap but Salam is located in Hiroo which automatically makes any menu on that street more expensive. Sitting at the counter you can see everything and in the open kitchen where the quality and freshness of ingredients are clear. Not to mention the portion sizes are perfect make it worth the price!
Lastly - The Cookies! OMG! Always save room for those...
Read moreWelcoming Middle Eastern mezz dining bar in the Eat Play Works building, operated by same group as Oxomoco in same space. Menu is designed and prepared by American born and trained chef Rachel. Wide vegetarian & vegan menu, with good chicken & lamb options (& small puff pastry beef pot pies for those who want meat dishes.) I dined on a Friday night - the clientele are mostly ex-pats, and it is popular with young Japanese on date nights! Bustling takeout volumes too. Good Negroni, and well-sourced pilsner lager from a provincial craft brewery. My starter plate of Babaganoush may be the best I’ve ever tasted and beautifully presented. Main course (vegetarian) of Falafel Mezze hit the spot. Chef Rachel has nice client manner discussing her menu designs; and the selections are varied by season. All round atmosphere, service & menu worked well for me, as an avowed fan of the taste and health of ‘Lebanese-style’ dining. Dinner with cocktail and beer cost Y6700. David...
