I asked hotel to make recommendations on traditional sushi restaurants with the following criteria: I don’t want to pay for contemporary cuisine when chef spends more than half of time to arrange the dishes. I want to pay for the flavors of food. Traditional settings are preferred over contemporary ones. I want to enjoy a genuine Japanese culture while eating the food. This restaurant was provided among many other restaurants and I picked it mainly due to the high ratings on Google. It turned out that those ratings are pretty much on par with what I would do. My first impression was pretty good when I sat down. I felt warmth immediately from the heating and people inside. It was a good start. I ordered sake just to try out the Japanese way. It tased a bit sweet and lovely. Then the real show time started when another late arriving guest sat next to me. The interaction between guests and chefs were amusing, funny, genuine and pleasant. I am running out of good words to describe the atmosphere, sorry. I appreciate how the chef prepared each piece of food and presented to me and other guests. That attitude of perfection was so apparent that everyone could tell. The foods were great, the best ones I ever ate in my over 50 years of life on this planet. Four of us had dinner at Sushi Tou. To say the experience was exceptional falls short.
Our chef was very helpful and explained each course as he plated it, recommending what to add (wasabi, salt, soy sauce) and in what order. He took into account my numerous food allergies with kindness.
The other staff provided quick, efficient, and friendly service throughout the evening.
The food was sensational. Choosing a favorite bite is impossible. The variety of flavors and textures opened my eyes to what sushi can truly be.
An important note to foreign visitors, the staff all spoke English which made the entire dinner very easy to navigate. You should be aware that the restaurant expects you at your reservation time and not before. When they are ready for you, they will open the door and hang a banner outside. We made the mistake of assuming we should open the door (like we do in the US) and accidentally interrupted the staff while they were preparing for our dinner.

Read moreI had a very enjoyable experience at Sushi Tou. Everything was delicious, but the best for me during this visit was the horse mackerel (aji), also the marinated tuna surprised me the texture was unexpected. I can't wait to come back; please keep making such amazing sushi! 👍
I recommend Sushi Tou, especially if it's your first omakase experience.
The atmosphere strikes a good balance between upscale and approachable.
The price point is very reasonable.
The diverse range of textures and flavors on the menu kept me interested.the feeling of each consecutive piece was distinct!
The fact that their ingredients come from all corners of Japan made me feel like I was truly savoring the essence of the country.🤓
Only bad thing is I forgot the name of the fish for the sushi that is transparent white with red tinge and soy sauce brushed on top🥲. I liked that one too
Thanks to chef Matsumoto🫡,...
