I want to start my review by saying that this hotel had exceptional customer service that made our stay more than comfortable, with one individual being a highlight of our 10 days in Japan. Satsuki (like from My Neighbor Totoro!) was so kind and she went above and beyond to make us feel welcome during our stay. It was clear she cares very much about the guest experience at Hotel Minato, and I wanted to recognize that!
For the location, this hotel is in a quieter area of Tokyo which was a welcome break from the chaos in other wards or districts such as Shibuya or Akihabara. Still plenty of bars and restaurants around to enjoy, but there were definitely fewer tourists in this area than others. It is a bit of a hike from public transit compared to other experiences we've had in Japan, and it took about a 10 minute walk to get to or from the closest station. There are ample taxis in the area though so it would be easy to catch one if you have more limited mobility or don't want to deal with the walk plus transferring between lines. For us it was worth the distance from the station, but we are pretty active and comfortable with the public transit system in Japan so we are fine with the distance and transferring lines.
The room was beautiful with plenty of space to spread out, which can be hard to find in Tokyo. We opted for the breakfast-included option and they had us select our breakfast the day prior and it was brought to our room at a time of our choosing. The breakfast was on par with the other hotels we got breakfast at on our trip, so no real complaints there. It wasn't mind-blowing but definitely still a good option if you are interested in a no-fuss breakfast, given that there aren't a lot of early breakfast options outside of convenience stores.
There are indeed karaoke machines in the rooms so we could hear some of our neighbors making use of those despite the decent soundproofing. We're pretty particular about noise levels so it's worth noting but wouldn't stop us from staying there again.
We forwarded some of our luggage there from our hotel in Kyoto a couple of days prior and that was very seamless. When we arrived to check in, they had already put our luggage in our room.
Overall, I would recommend this hotel to anyone who needs some rest and peace, especially if you've otherwise been running around a lot trying to see all...

Location: The bus stop across the street has a few routes that run every 8 to 15 mins or so (depending on route). Shibuya station is really easy to get to/from Nearest rail stations are 10 to 13 mins walking away Familymart is across the street Olive Spa nearby has great massages and is open very late Nearby restaurants seem to be higher-end / require reservations on weekends, or they are cheap takeout places
Staff: very friendly and attentive
Last tip - make sure to read the guide in the room (take pictures and run it through Google Translate) to know how everything works. We underutilized some things due to not...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I stayed in this Hotel right after we got engaged and we had the best experience we could have hoped for. The staff was incredibly nice and did it's really best to help us with anything we could need and to communicate with us in english. They had the nicest attentions and alone would have been enough for us to come back. The Suite was even much more beautiful in person as in the fotos and felt much bigger. We also had the best time using the spacious indoor and outdoor baths. Everything we could have need for the stay already was provided in room, we event got to try a karaoke machine! The pyjamas and bed were extra comfortable, and we loved the localisation wich was really central and allowed us to go everywhere we wanted to go in very little time. We only regretted that we couldn't stay one more night because we would have loved to stay longer and we will definitely come back the next time we are in Tokyo! Thanks a lot for making us feel so welcome and comfortable, we are looking forward for...
