Tokyo Mithai Wala is a must-see if you're in Tokyo and long for the flavor of real Indian street food, or mithai. This quaint little store makes you feel at home right away with its big flavors and sincere hospitality. I tried a variety of snacks and sweets, and everything was better than I had anticipated: • Faluda: Just like the ones from home, this dish is chilled, creamy, and exquisitely layered with vermicelli, basil seeds, and rose syrup. • Rasmalai: Spongy, soft, and drenched in milk with a deep saffron flavor. A real delight! • Kaju katli and motoor laddoo: ideally textured and subtly sweet. Every bite has a hint of freshness. • Vada Pav & Samosa: Delightful, spicy, and crispy. In particular, the vada pav had just the right amount of masala and chutney. • Samosa Chaat & Sev Puri: These street food favorites are crunchy, spicy, and tangy! The chaat had perfectly balanced layers of chutney, yogurt, and spices. • Chole Bhature: This dish immediately transported me back to the streets of Delhi with its fluffy bhature and spicy, flavorful chole. The staff is friendly, understanding, and happy to explain the menu if you're unfamiliar with Indian food. The setting is straightforward and tidy. Considering the caliber and genuineness of the food, the prices are very fair. Tokyo Mithai Wala is a great place for tourists seeking a unique experience, Japanese locals discovering new flavors, and Indian expats yearning for a taste of home.

As I have tried these food previously in Nepal and India as well. The taste were not authentic. Price is pretty expensive than the quantity and quality served. Chole bhature’s chole and pavbhaji’s that puree like side-dish was not appealing to eyes and tastebud. Papdichat was good but who would visit that far to have Papdichat only. As service was slow and the person on second floor was kinda ignoring customers. In Japan, we were not expecting that kind of customer service with that price rates on Menu. At least water could be served and tissues, spoons and forks should be made available in every table. When we asked for tissues and spoons the person serving on second floor was ignoring. Also when we were ordering some additional foods he just waved his hand at us (trying to say wait a minute) without speaking. If you cannot handle crowd alone, should hire more staff. This attitude and service will not increase customers.

A Sweet Escape and Snack Paradise!

I recently visited Tokyo Mithai Wala and it was an absolute treat for the senses! This charming establishment is a perfect blend of mouthwatering snacks and delectable sweets, making it a haven for food lovers. There was neat and clean restaurant.

The moment I walked in, I was greeted by the delightful aroma of freshly prepared snacks. I started my culinary adventure with their crispy samosas and Dahi Puri. Samosa were fried to perfection, with a golden crust that gave way to delicious, flavorful fillings. The accompanying mint chutney was a refreshing complement that elevated the experience!chole bhature have real taste of India.

Now, let’s talk about the sweets! The display of traditional Indian sweets is simply mesmerizing. I couldn’t resist trying their famous gulab jamun and rasmalai. The gulab jamun was soft, syrupy, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious, while the rasmalai was light and perfectly sweetened. I also picked up some barfi to take home, which was equally delightful.

The staff at TokyoMithaiWala were friendly and knowledgeable, always ready to recommend their favorites. They can speak Japanese,English and Hindi. The ambiance is warm and inviting, making it a great spot enjoy the snacks and sweets.

Whether you’re looking to satisfy your sweet tooth or grab a quick bite, this place has it all. I left with a happy heart and a bag full of treats! I can’t wait to return and explore...
