Update 2021: Quality has really gone down in recent times, especially compared to the past when I've been here before. Portions have seemed to suffer from "shrinkflation", the drinks were too icy and a bit flavorless. Rice was a bit hard and undercooked, tacos were under filled, tortillas were doughy and ripped/misshapen. I've knocked off a star from my previous review. I'm disappointed.
Review from 4 years ago:
Really good ambience and environment here. The music is authentic and food tastes authentic too! They have a nice wraparound booth for seating that is good for groups.
They have an interesting service where they make the guacamole in front of you and also they have "flambee" dishes they set on fire in front of you! When we came, someone was having a birthday and the waitresses brought over dessert and Sombreros! The overhead music also changed to a "happy birthday" tune, so it would be a great opportunity for bringing family and friends!
I gave 4 stars because the service was a bit slower than I would have liked. At first, they did get my order wrong, but they were nice about it and fixed it right away when I brought it to...
Read moreStepping back into El Torito Nishi Kasai after half a decade was like opening a time capsule filled with flavors! The Spicy Jalapeno cheese balls were little orbs of fiery pleasure, delivering a heat that built up to just the right crescendo, perfectly paired with the cooling relief of the house dip.
The enchiladas and burrito? Let's just say they've been marinating in my memories for years, and they lived up to every single spice-infused recollection. The enchiladas were a soft, tender embrace of corn tortilla and melting cheese, while the burrito was a hearty, flavor-packed fiesta that unfurled with each bite. The sauces weren't just accompaniments; they were the zesty conductors orchestrating a symphony of taste that danced across the palate.
Dining at El Torito Nishi Kasai is more than a meal; it's a sensory journey back to a time of joyous culinary discovery. The ambiance hasn't lost its warmth, and the nostalgia envelops you like the comforting blanket of familiar scents and tastes. It's a reminder that some things—like good food and cherished memories—only get better with time. #ElToritoNostalgia #MexicanMagic...
Read moreEarlier The food here was good and amazing but recently we realized the portion sizes are reduced to almost half of what used to be served before. The complimentary chips are even put up on menu now. Chicken fingers have reduced and shrunken in size. The chicken enchiladas are not even enough for being a meal, the meal size really surprised us as it was reduced to half of what used to be served before. Earlier each started was nicely presented with enough salad and gaucomole but we realized that it is no more included in serving and salad is just a pinch of name sake. It used to be our favorite place to dine out. But we were disappointed with the change. Even the kids menu no more added to the table menu. Service was slow too. The dinner meal which used to be more than enough for family of four usually costed reasonably but it was double the amount for the meals ordered this time. Quality and quantity has dropped...
