This is my second time staying at this property. The last time was pre-pandemic.||When I saw this hotel as one of the choices with the package we booked, I knew what to expect and that it was a good choice. We stayed at their sister hotel in Kasai last year.||This hotel appears to be a bit older or is not updated as often. The room was a bit tired and in need of a refurbishment. The carpets needs to be either cleaned or better yet replaced. It was stained and looked dirty. The desk drawer was broken. The bathroom was well stocked and was clean. This room also could use an update in electrical outlets to plug in and charge your items. There was only 2 sets of 2 outlets (one on the desk and one on the headboard). 4 outlets isn't enough with all of today's devices that need to be charged.||All in all, the room while dated and stained carpet was comfortable and quiet. It had a washer/dryer unit and it worked well and isn't loud, so you can run it before you go to bed and get up to clean clothes.||There is a small kitchenette with the smallest fridge that with one bottle of water (500ml) and it's full already. || Wifi in the room is OK, not great, but worked for me for checking email and doing research on my phone.||The breakfast in the lobby is good for free hotel breakfast. Fresh baked croissants with either mac or potato salad along with assorted bread rolls, juice, coffee, etc. ||Location is in a quiet residential neighborhood a few blocks from the Nishikasai subway station (Tozai line). Easy to get to from Haneda airport. We took the Airport Limousine from Haneda to Kasai station and then 1 stop on the subway over to Nishikasai and walked from there. Going home (after buying out most of Japan, we had a lot more luggage), we needed to take a taxi to Kasai station from the hotel then boarded the Airport Limousine bus back to Haneda.||There are a few restaurants a stone's throw away from the hotel and a Family Mart directly across the street. Once you get closer to the station, there's lots of restaurants and shops.||This is a decent hotel for visiting Tokyo, however, I would give it's sister property a slight edge. The Kasai location is easier to get to from the station and has the Airport Limousine stop, making it easier to navigate getting home with more luggage.||The daily housekeeping is good and consistent and the staff a helpful and pleasant. ||I fully recommend this hotel and would stay...
Read moreFirst of all, I'll summarize the key points:
Perhaps a single room not being cleaned properly could be considered an accident, but if both rooms have the same issue, does it indicate a problem? Even if we assume that the hotel has done some cleaning, what is the point of cleaning if there are still obvious stains on the bedsheets and other items? It is surprising that the hotel doesn't have spare bedsheets available. Based on the description provided, I believe the bedsheets were dirty. However, when I mentioned this to the staff, he shouted at me. The staff made decisions without consulting me. Even if whether or not I agreed with the decision was up to me, it was still an impolite behavior. The staff repeatedly emphasized that they guarantee cleanliness. But based on the description provided, this staff member has no credibility with me. Typically, when you want to prove something, you should provide substantial evidence rather than just verbal assurances.
Now, I will briefly describe the sequence of events:
When I was getting ready to sleep at around 11:00 pm, I noticed hair on the bed and walls that had not been cleaned. I contacted the front desk, and then Mr.English came to my room. After acknowledging the issue, he assured me that the rooms were clean (which puzzled me) and offered to change my room. However, in the new room, I discovered more hair and even stains on the sheets and telephone. I had to contact the front desk again. Mr.English reiterated his assurance and mentioned that they didn't have any spare bedding or available rooms. Then, inexplicably, he started making a phone call. But by this time, I was already very tired, so I interrupted him and said, "Although the bedsheets are not clean, I can manage to stay here." He shouted at me, "It's not dirty! PLEASE wait a moment," and continued his phone conversation. After the call, he informed me that they would arrange for me to go to another hotel. It was already around 11:40 pm, and considering that I usually sleep at 11:00 pm, I declined the offer to go to...
Read moreHotel Lumiere Nishikasai is the hotel to go back to after a long day. Though not situated anywhere near tourist attractions, you can reach popular locations in relatively short train rides. There is a good-sized Family Mart right across the hotel and many other eateries around the area. The Nishikasai Station is a short walk away and has more restaurant choices. Go further to Sunny Mall, and you will find relatively cheap toiletries, a bigger supermarket and a Daiso. Hotel staff is extremely friendly. Always helpful, always accommodating and always ready with a smile. I was given a twin room on the 11th floor which provided an excellent view of the town. The room was extremely clean and tidy, no hair or stains found. In the room, there was a washing machine cum dryer. This was very useful as I did not have to use the chargeable shared ones at level 2. You can get a small sachet of laundry powder at the reception for 50 yen. There was a small kitchenette in the room too (No utensils provided though). The microwave oven was very convenient for those ready-to-eat meals I’d brought from home. Bathroom was a tad bigger than most, better than i expected. Again, very clean and tidy. I find the bed comfortable. But I do have a friend who didn’t. The breakfast selection may be the only factor that affects my review. The selection was small with no change to the variety during my 3-week stay. The salty eggs in the menu being the only saving grace. From the friendly staff to the cleanliness to the superb views of the skyline from my room, Hotel Lumiere Nishikasai certainly made my stay a very memorable one, no doubt a lasting one. It is a home away from home. I will definitely...
