We had our morning breakfast here with Hojicha and Matcha latte and they’re both so good! They told us they are high grade and I took every sip of it like I am dreaming. One of my best Hojicha and Matcha experience! I also love the Carrot cake that is not too sweet, it was just perfect. They’re one of the early openers in the area so I’d recommend you try to visit. PS, if you are a tourist just like me please treat them with kindness and respect. We were given a respectful service and gentle approach. I love this cafe.

Probably the worst treatment i have ever had. The guy forced us to choose what we wanted and pay for it even tho it was no one else inside. We asked for 2 cake slices and 2 drinks and the price was about 2500 Yen. Next, a japanese family comes in, he welcomes them, tells them to sit down, gives them the menu, and they paid only when leaving. The price for 4 cakes and 4 drinks was 3000 Yen. To sum up, if you are a foreigner, dont come here or else you will get robbed for sure, with no gun, just a good old calculator.

A cozy cafĂŠ with a very nice view of the city (especially the uji river). Unfortunately, the store is a little overlooked because we only found it by coincidence after visiting the byodo-in. I ordered an iced coffee and a piece of chocolate cake. Both extremely tasty. The only improvement I would have liked to see is a backrest on the chair but otherwise I can only recommend this cafĂŠ.

The Worst Customer Service We’ve Ever Experienced – 0/10

We were a group visiting Uji for the first time, excited to explore and relax. Unfortunately, our experience at this cafĂŠ was appalling from the moment we walked in.

The staff member greeted us with an unfriendly expression that made it immediately clear we weren’t welcome, despite the place being completely empty. When we said how many people were in our group, he pointed to a book saying that each person needed to order a drink — which was perfectly fine with us on a hot summer day.

Things escalated shockingly fast. As we were calmly browsing the menu (less than a minute), he suddenly shouted at us to order immediately. We were caught off guard by his impatience, but before we could even decide, he slammed his book shut, raised his voice, and demanded that we leave.

Afterward: The reviews and realized this kind of behavior seems to be a pattern. Telling customers they “should have read the reviews” before visiting is not only unprofessional but speaks volumes about how little this business values its guests. Responding to criticism with sarcasm and defensiveness doesn’t help either — telling people to “leave” when they already have is just petty.

There are far better places in Uji with warm hospitality and respect for their customers. We found one right after — and the difference was way better. Not worth going to!...

If there is zero stars,I would give zero stars. The owner is so rude. Rude x 100!!

First word out from her mouth is not welcome but ORDER FIRST!! Never be back and I don't recommend that at all.

We ordered two drinks and just wanted to use the laptop for a short work, they chase us out. Luckily I haven paid. I have been in Japan for 2 weeks, this is the worst I ever been treated.

If you want coffee or just a place to work with your laptop, just walk down the few minutes there is a welcoming Starbucks!!!

*P/S: After reading the comments and reviews from others, now I understand. Haha. I gonna get a reply of "LEAVE" by the owners.

Dear owners of this ABC Cafe, I realized no one let you explain your anger or frustration towards foreigner or maybe some type of people.

Would you want to share why you are so angry? Something from your past that causes you to be so angry? It's not healthy for you, miss. Really. We are all human, we are people of the world. No such thing as japanese or Malaysian or Korean or what. We all bleed red.

When you are ready to talk, reply my comment. I come find you to have a...

Went to this coffee shop for a couple Americanos this morning and left with a bad mood. We asked for take out coffee, and were brought scorching hot coffee that was impossible to drink or hold. We asked for an extra cup to be able to carry it, but the lady working in the coffee shop blatantly refused to give it to us. So we decided to sit down at the bar near the window to let the coffee cool. The lady came to us and told us to get out and that we cannot sit there because we ordered takeout coffee (which is the same as price as sit-in). We told her the coffee is too hot to hold and she still said "no please leave now"! Japanese customer service so far has been the best, but this place... I've never experienced such rudeness! spoiled my mood for the next...
