Hanare — Restaurant in Uji

Awarded two stars because my group of 3 was seated at separate tables of two, when there were other 4-seater booths available. I tried to ask if we could sit together when a table was made available (a couple had just left), but the waiter I asked was not willing. It wasn’t pleasant to watch other groups of 2 seated at the booths. As I work as a waitress, I think the staff could have been more considerate as this would have been easy to do. We also would have been willing to wait for a table where we could sit together.

Besides this, I enjoyed the matcha dipping udon with duck. The duck pieces were thick and juicy...

The food was yummy but it was also quite pricey, which is why I gave it a 4 and not a 5.

The matcha udon was firm with the taste being very very light. The tempura was good and it was the first time I had tempura with salt. The matcha salt actually was very good and salty.

The duck udon was just okay for me as it lacked a richness of flavor and the broth did not taste that good for me. But it did include a lot of green onions or leeks if...

Unfriendly and uncomfortable service to me dining alone in an isolated seat with door . No smile, passion...Seemed intendedly not provide cheaper noodle set and english menu in the beginning at dinner time. Not pleased to serve foreign customers. Guests have to take off shoes so basically it's not a stereotyped udone store. Not feel full. Expensive in terms of value. Leave me a bad impression to Uji in the end of this...
