You can buy their 400 yen ice cream but cannot eat in the shop even it's not meal time and there's no client seating inside while the weather outside is heavily hot and the bench in front of their shop is fully occupied. After I paid and I was looking for seat to dine in, the seller (the older one) expelled and told me that I could not eat inside. She pointed out somewhere else that there's no place to sit on the sunny day. No napkins. The taste is so-so. The only one good thing is that it is located right in front of Byodo-in so it's easy to find, easy to grab some food after visiting Byodo-in. That's it. I visit Japan about 8 times and I could say that this is the worst experience here in Japan. This lower the perspective of the service mind of Japanese people and destroy my good memories of how other shops treat clients. If the seller sees my comment here, please do not do this to others again. There are other shops in this area that have better service mind and greater taste compared to your shop. Better close your shop or change your business genre to furniture showroom if the tables and chairs inside are just for showing that you own furniture, not for clients to...

Only disappointing thing that spoiled the experience was that the owners got grumpy at us for sitting in the dining area when we were eating our ice cream. We had no idea that we weren't supposed to sit there. We were then relegated to a bench near the door like naughty school kids. I didnt see the difference- since it was nearly closing time, nobody would be coming in for lunch or tea and we were the only customers there. We were paying customers after all AND we had just purchased about Y5000 worth of premium matcha tea. If Seinfeld ever made a comeback, they could do an episode about the...
Read moreCame here after visiting the temple and I ordered a roasted green tea soda, but I was handed a matcha soda. I already tried the matcha one earlier in the day so asked if they could remake it, where he insisted I had ordered the matcha one and wouldn't exchange it. I don't speak Japanese but I tried my best to explain to him that's not what I ordered. He offered for me to take my money back and leave which I did, and walked to another store down the block to buy something else. An odd interaction, I think they don't like tourists or it was a...
