Two story Japanese restaurant. Although it was a weekday, it was busy during lunch time. No need for a reservation. However, if it was too crowded during the weekend, they might ask you to wait. this time we were lucky and we waited 2 minutes only. On May 12, 2024, after seeing Byodo-in, we had lunch at Renge Chaya. The lunch was nice, and the food was both tasty and fresh. We chose a set that included cha soba, which was both refreshing and wonderful.

The service was attentive and efficient. It is one of the nicer restaurants that we have visited on this Japan vacation...
