I bought two tins of Matcha in April 2025. I bought the top grade and the grade below p ( 3240 and 2380 yen for each of them. )

I have to say it is very disappointing the quality of the Matcha they offer. it is the worst Matcha I have bought in Japan and I visited about 10 tea stores altogether for the two months that I was in Japan.

I bought some lower grade matcha and half of the price of what the top grey has cost here and the quality was far more superior.

I don’t believe the owners don’t know the where their quality of matcha stands. so for me this is a bit cheeky and a stretch for them to charge this price point for the quality they offer .

The matcha was has a dull yellowish colour and you can’t enjoy it on its own as it is bitter .

So for someone like me who drinks matcha on its own ( no milk or sugar ) This is a bit of a scam.

Especially even the highest grade they have is bitter. I had some matcha from another brand and it was 8000 yen for 20 g and it was pure umami and sweetness . I know what good matcha taste like .

I really don’t like to leave a bad review on small businesses , but I do feel that I have to be honest.

I think you can try other tea , but matcha...

The matcha here is unlike anything I’ve tasted before. Smooth, earthy, with a deep umami richness that lingers in the best way. You can tell it’s made with care and decades of experience. I learned so much just by watching her prepare the tea—each movement deliberate, graceful, and full of love. There’s a calm energy in the space,. If you want to experience matcha in its purest form, served by someone who’s dedicated her life to the craft, Uchi...

Bad experiences The old women is very kind and nice. But the middle age man has very bad attitude to customers, he asked me if I want to buy this one and I said yes but please wait for a minutes(while I searched google for japanese translating) then He waved his hand to chase us away like a dog at no time. Not impressed but still buy it because of the women(which is very very nice and has truely service...

Tourists should not just walk into other tea stalls on the Main Street. I read about this place from Reddit and lo and behold they were one of the only places left with matcha. The owner was very nice and I’m glad I found the tea stall. The tea was grinded in store too. The price was very fair. I bought the 2nd and 3rd tier matcha (30g each) for a total of ¥4430.

Very good prices for the quality on offer. Owners were very friendly and you can see tea being made in the window which is a nice touch.
