tl;dr I would stay here again in a heartbeat for the following reasons:
Luggage service to/from Maihama station Shuttles to/from the parks Early entrance to the parks Convenience store access
We were going to Tokyo Disneyland and Disneysea for the first time and originally wanted to book two nights at The Tokyo Disneyland Hotel, but given that we would be tired after the back to back park visits and it was peak summer season, we "compromised" and booked 3 nights at the Disney Ambassador Hotel to save on costs. For the price of two nights at Disneyland Hotel we were able to stay 3 nights at Ambassador Hotel. I don't regret this decision at all.
After arriving at Maihama Station, you don’t have to walk to the hotel to drop off your luggage, there’s a Tokyo Disney Resort Center next to the station where you can drop off your luggage to be delivered to your room. Your luggage can also meet you at the same drop off place after you check out. Super convenient and very much welcomed during the hot summer days in Japan.
If you arrive early enough, buy a 1-day pass to the Disney Resort Line, so you can hop on and hop off at all 3 hotels for a quick tour, maybe you’ll get to ride on specially themed trains. We got to ride the 40th Anniversary train.
To get to the hotel, you have to walk through the Ikspiari shopping mall. It's confusing at first, but once you figure it out, it’s easy enough to navigate.
Checking in to the hotel was simple enough, the kids can watch a Disney show while you wait in line. Once we got to our room with a patio (we didn’t use it), our luggage was delivered half an hour later. The room was nice and spacious enough to sleep 4 with 2 double beds, then we discovered the trundle, which then gave us plenty of room to sleep. It’s a normal hotel with a Disney theme; just enough of that Disney touch to feel like a Disney Resort. There’s instant coffee / tea, toothbrush with toothpaste, wash cloth, pajamas, extra blanket/pillow. There’s water bottles in the fridge at no extra charge.
There is a really nice outdoor pool at the hotel, but we didn't have enough time for a dip, the pool closes at 6pm.
There is a convenience store in the hotel, I highly recommend purchasing what you need the next morning to just get up, eat and then go. After the park, the line gets long, but goes by quickly. I grabbed a beer after each night, after a long hot day at the park during peak summer season.
There are shuttles to Disneyland and Disneysea at the main entrance, which made going to the parks easy, but also made going back to the hotel just as easy. The shuttle line for the Celebration hotel was easily 5 times longer than the Ambassador shuttle; we were able to get on the next bus once entering our queue.
The early entrance is one of the main reasons I would book at a Disney Resort again, 15 minutes doesn’t seem like much, but imagine getting access to the park for yourself for photos. After we entered, we took pictures at Cinderella’s castle at Disneyland without other people around. The biggest perk is being able to use the Premier Pass and equivalent of the Fastpass, because that allows you to set your day schedule and you can book again faster for the rest of the day. We were able to wait only 20 minutes for rides that take 1-2 hours after the park opens for everyone else. You can then get into the next queue with less wait. This perk easily allows you to get an easier start to your day at the park.
After your park visit, you come back to a relaxing room-serviced room; beds are made, everything is replenished (including the water bottles in the fridge).
On our last day, we had reservations to Chef Mickey, where we were able to take photos with Mickey! It was a nice way to end our Tokyo Disney Resort experience.
My family and I enjoyed our experience at Disney Ambassador Resort. We can’t wait to come back!
Note: Try not to forget your early access pass (it’s separate from the park entrance ticket). If you do, they can help you as you wait inline by the...
Read moreWe bought Disney vacation with included one night stay in Ambassador Hotel, 1 day pass to Disneysea abd 2nd day pass to Disneyland.
For the Ambassador Hotel, there were few good and bad comments.
After we did our booking, the hotel didn't explain well in the email regarding the check-in procedure. When we reached the Maihama station, then only we realised that we needed to put our luggage at the welcome centre located very near to the JR station. The hotel also didn't advise us accordingly how to go to the hotel from the train station. We needed to carry our luggage and walk 20 minutes and ask around then only could know the way to the hotel.
When we asked, is there any shuttle bus between the hotel and station? The reception said NO. is there a shuttle bus between the hotel and Disneyland? The reception said YES. In fact, the Disneyland entrance and the train station were so close (within 100m). I was confused why the shuttle bus to and from Disneyland could not drop off or pick us up at the station since we had heavlvy luggage.
The lounge at the 6th level was fantastic. Free drink (included alchohol) and snack for dine in and take out. Yes, even take out was ok.
There were few complimentary gifts for vacation packages. Claimable at first-floor gift shop.
Shuttle bus stop to and from Disneyland and Disneysea with frequency 10 minutes were available at the bus stop besides the exit gate of gift shop.
The mickey Mouse themed room was so beautiful. Many items from the room could be taken back as souvenirs.
The reception problem again when check out. Upon check out, I requested my luggage bag to be stored near the station rather than I need to take the bus back to the hotel to collect, then take the shuttle bus back to the train station. I was told by the reception to store my luggage at the welcomed centre at 800 yen per bag and adking me the time to collect. Later, after the Disneyland tour, I needed to run to the welcomed centre to collect my bag as some Disneyland staff told me that the welcomed centre closed at 8pm. When I arrived at the welcomed centre, it was 7:57pm and there was still a lot of unclaimed luggage and the staff there were preparing to close the shuttle gate. After I collected my bags, when I wanted to re-enter Disneyland, the security guard stopped me as no luggage was allowed. The security guard told me that the hotel reception should advised me to store my luggage bag at the train station locker, which was much cheaper at 500 yen and cold store until midnight. I missed the fireworks because of the hotel reception, which didn't advise me accordingly. They assumed that we were locals and knew each detail. They expected us to ask in a very specific and detailed way instead of proactively advising us on the next...
We stayed at the Disney Ambassador Hotel for 2 nights as a family of five, including our two young children (ages 5 and 3) and a nanny. We booked the Superior Room (4 Beds, 41 sqm), and it was very spacious by Japanese standards.||The room was well-designed for families. It came with two twin beds (120x200 cm), one trundle bed, and one sofa bed, comfortably accommodating up to four adults and two children under 12. The bathroom and toilet were separated, which made it much easier for our group to get ready in the mornings. There was also a small table with two chairs (perfect for dining or relaxing), a closet for hanging clothes, and a mini fridge.||When we arrived late at night after a full day at Disneyland, our luggage was already waiting for us in the room, having been smoothly transferred from the Toy Story Hotel — a service we really appreciated!||As a Deluxe Hotel within the Tokyo Disney Resort, staying here gave us early access privileges to Tokyo DisneySea. The complimentary shuttle bus to DisneySea made the morning very convenient, and the 15-minute early entry was a big bonus!||Hotel facilities included a small Disney store (selling souvenirs and toys), a convenience store, and an outdoor pool (extra charge applies, but we didn't use it since it was winter). The hotel can also store your luggage and send it to another Disney hotel free of charge — a wonderful service for travelers moving between hotels.||Another thoughtful touch was the complimentary pajamas provided for both adults and kids. They also offered children’s amenities such as slippers, toothbrushes, and a cute cup. Plus, we received one reusable tote bag per night — we got two in total for our stay.||There is a bakery in the lobby level, and we absolutely loved it! It offers a great selection of breads and breakfast items for grab-and-go, perfect for busy mornings. Initially, we had planned to dine at the hotel’s Chef Mickey restaurant (the popular character dining experience), but canceled to enjoy a more relaxed morning. However, if you are planning to dine there, I highly recommend making a reservation at least one month in advance, as it tends to book out very quickly.||Overall, we had a truly wonderful and comfortable stay at Disney Ambassador Hotel. It’s a fantastic option for families who want a smooth and magical Tokyo Disney...
