GIN — Restaurant in Wakayama

The omakase was amazing, very high quality and great value. It included sashimi with 5 pieces, 2 of which was high quality tuna, a large boiled piece of white fish in broth which was my favourite, a cold cabbage dish, tempura plate perfectly crispy and not too oily, Shirasu don with pickles and miso soup. I also ordered the grilled white fish body which was also very good, incredibly moist and tender. 4800 yen for all of this, just incredible. Not to mention I got good hojicha on the house. This is my favourite fish restaurant in Wakayama. For the price of a lunch set (1200 yen) the quality of the food is excellent. The basic sets are tempura, stewed fish, grilled fish and sashimi. The sets come with free refills of miso soup and rice. I had the 2100 yen Gin set today which was also excellent. I bring people here when I have visitors to Wakayama. One of the best fish restaurants I have been to in Japan. It can be busy at lunchtime so go as early as possible and prepare to wait up to 30 minutes...

A fish restaurant in which I have my best lunch so far in this Japan trip. Many local Japanese people would go.
