Royal Host Wakayama — Restaurant in Wakayama

I’m told this is like the Dennys of the USA, but it is a very welcoming environment and the staff were super friendly. Not in a dodgy area like some Dennys tend to be, this was in between the neighborhood areas and close to a main road so there is a lot of foot traffic. Food was very filling but left me wanting for more. I got the hamburg steak variety, which came with a beef patty, sausage, chicken, corn, broccoli, and tonkatsu sauce. Very savory, got all my daily nutritional needs lol Finished up with a coffee jelly parfait, and wow, this was the perfect treat to finish up the meal! The coffee wasn’t bitter thanks to the sweetness of the ice cream and whipped cream.

If I were to feel the need to munch on anything, I’m definitely stopping...

Was Host curious. Demographic is mostly grandparents catching up with the grand children. Good people watching if you want to experience a Japanese interpretation of American post-war middle-class banality.

Food is a 'western style menu' involving steaks and 'burgers' served as steaks. It's fine but unimportant. It's a side to the people watching. Go with a friend. You can talk about everybody and they can't...

Good value restaurant serving european and japanese dishes all day. Very comfortable seating with some cosy window booths. I had lunch and breakfast. The food was exactly as shown on the menu. On both my visits I found the staff to be attentive and friendly with a good understanding of English and they took the time to explain all the options. Good value and a good experience....
