Great cafeteria at Riken. I was visiting Riken, so this review is based on my impressions from the one lunch I had here. Its a bit interesting in that there are several windows, each loaded with the certain dish, and reloaded by the staff when you take it. For example the rice bowl window, or the noodle window. You simply just take the food you want, without any interactions with the kitchen, fill your tray and take it to check out. A downside this is setup is that there no options for a larger or smaller size. Next, there is a checkout line that will only accept IC card payment (suica, icoca, passmo etc), no cash/coins, debit, credit. After you pass checkout, grab a drink and sit! The food was good. Very acceptable considering its low price (less than 500 yen for the pictured meal.) Make sure to put the tray away after you finish.
