If you’re skiing or snowboarding in Zao I highly recommend a night in Yamagata just to hangout at this bar. The master mixologist is knowledgeable and the service is impeccable. And we were made to feel so welcome. We had such a great time here. Will definitely be back.

【追憶の軌跡】酔いに身を任せてウイスキーに浸る。 居酒屋を出た頃には、すでに高速バスの最終便が出発していた。 凍てつく夜風は、まるで冬の最後の抵抗かのようである。 次の店を探すにも寒過ぎる。 そう思った矢先、異彩を放つ高品位な外観が目に入った。 寒さに背中を押されて入っていくと、店内は意想外の賑やかさである。 カウンターに座し、スコッチウイスキーのコーナーを探し、「ボウモア」をショットでオーダーする。 最近、バーに行けば必ずスコッチしかオーダーしない自分に気づいた。 最近まで、ウイスキーと言えばバーボンばかり飲んでいたのに、今ではすっかりスコッチ好きになってしまった。それは舌が肥えたからなのか、それとも単なる加齢のせいなのか？ それにしても、バーとは不思議な場所である。 バーならではの普遍的空間、そしてその土地ならではの客層とそれが放つ空気感… 徐々に深まる酔いはスカイ島が誇る「タリスカー」を要求した。 アイラ島とは異なるどこか澄み切った味わいがひた走る。 そうして最後の1杯は、再びアイラ島に戻って「アードベッグ」をいただく。 スモーキーな香りが「タリスカー」の余韻を打ち砕く。 気がつけば深夜であった。 ウイスキーで温まった体は、外の寒さより一足早く春の陽気をもてあそぶのであった…
