Day & Coffee — Restaurant in Yamagata

Beautiful, cute speciality coffee shop. Master roast the coffee beans in the store in small roasting machine managed through his laptop. Perfect place to enjoy coffee and waffles. We were unfortunate not able to try crowaffel as it wasn’t available. Definitely recommend “friendship coffee”. If you like to sit down, relax and enjoy your day, it’s perfect as it is managed single handedly by the master so not for those who want everything in rush. Master speaks decent English and he also conveyed for our safety as we were going to Yamadera and snow is melting which is dangerous when climbing 1012...

We received subpar service. Waited outside for ~20 mins then 1 group went past us to sit at the table (that we saw it has been available for a while) which pissed me off. When I inquired they struggling for the answer for a few second then came up that the group as reserved the seat but I felt that they didn’t want to admitted that they just forgot that we were waited outside. We ended up at the uncomfortable counter seats.

A nice coffee shop, conveniently located near the station! I highly recommend trying their house roast—the owner's passion for coffee shines through in every cup. The coffee was really nice.
