The reviews here are so mixed. I'll explain.
Depending on the server, the service may or may not be good
It takes about 15 minutes to get the order because they pan fry it after you order.
It tastes wholesome, fresh, not commercially manufactured. Super nice crispy exterior.
They have some homemade chili oil sauce for them, it's okay I guess.
For less than 300yen, it's a steal. Anyone expecting more has overly high hopes. One set is probably not enough for most. An average woman could eat 2 sets.
I didn't order the rice and soup set but the soup looked like just broth with very few bits of vegetables inside.
It's a cramped space so if you're claustrophobic, it's not for you. Better than getting a rice ball or bread at a convenience store.
Not worth a wait but apparently the shop has some fans. If you decide to go, 4pm is ideal. No line even on a Saturday.
Free barley tea. The server seems too busy to thoroughly wipe down the sauce containers and such so I recommend wiping down the counter and things before you eat.
So, it's a good value and fresh food. Supermarket dumplings may be cheaper but these at this restaurant taste 'clean' and devoid of preservatives and additives.
The cheapest option doesn't have any meat. Only vegetables. The vegetables were probably hastily whirred through a food processor and it's obvious when you eat it, kind mushy texture. This bothered me but average people probably wouldn't care or...
Read moreI used to love the dumplings and always a must visit on my work trips. The male staffs were nice and making tasty dumplings, with nice music in store, until today. It was just three customers, not crowded at all. I was squeezing in the seat and the older lady staff was so rude to me after realising I couldn't speak Japanese. And she just took all her chances bumped me by her elbows and hands every time she got passed me. Why would I bother to say that here? Because it was just so many times and obviously intentional! I'm sorry that I could not speak the local language but you didn't have to be this rude to me. It was awful! Anyone experienced the same thing as...
Read moreGyoza was great, I only got the takeaway because there was a long queue for the sitting area. There was a promotion for 5 pieces at 180yen (which is usually at 280yen). The gyoza had just the right chewy texture to the skin, and the filling was juicy, flavourful and had the right mix of ingredients. Also be sure to get the Miso Sauce over the shoyu, because miso is an uncommon sauce for gyoza but the umami of the sauce goes really well with the gyoza. I prefer this over the Gyoza Lou at Harajuku that has a...
