Read moreThis is a relatively recently opened hotel a stone throw away from Yokohama station. Note that the hotel is connected to the station by a covered walkway so location-wise its perfect. ||Lets start with the good as this will be the bulk of the review. We had booked an Residential twin, and two residential doubles for our parents. The hotel honored our request for a high floor, and the rooms were all close by each other.||The residential doubles are spacious compared to normal hotel rooms sizes in Tokyo. There is a separate kitchen, a separate toilet, a separate washroom. The room has a washing machine (with the settings all in Japanese!) which was a huge advantage. The beds were initially separated, but having a small baby in our party, I pushed them together and this worked quite well. ||A beautiful, huge flat screen TV was placed perfectly for watching it from the bed .. but there was not enough clearance between the end of the beds and the TV which meant one was often bumping into it. ||The hotel is new, and that was reflected in the room furnishings which were modern and fresh. There is a full-sized fridge freezer combo, a small kitchenette and plenty of storage. The toilet was one of the best ever - it had a light and was self-opening!! Fantastic for whe you need to pee in the dark. Our view from the 12th floor was decent .. and the room had a balcony - BUT there was no access to it which feels a wasted opportunity. There were plenty of outlets around the room and beside the bed.||There is no check-in desk per-se, rather a bunch of self-service kiosks and a desk for one staff member that has a voice-to-text translation screen. A cool idea, but there is something very disconcerting about the LED lighting in the lobby area. Both the translation machine and the elevator lighting in the lobby seems to shimmer/the PWM cylcle is very noticeable and extremely disconcerting. That aside, the lobby is a bit gloomy in brown drab colours, but there is nice cafe. |The staff throughout were helpful and friendly, but their English was lacking - the translation machine helped. One of my party needed to check out a day earlier, and initially it looked like we would need to pay for that lost night, but the helpful girl spoke to the manager and sorted it out.. thank you for this.||There were a few minor improvement points, some already mentioned like the TV-bed clearance. The room was missing a proper desk which meant working on my laptop for any length of time was uncomfortable on the "dining table". Most Japanese hotel rooms have a clock in the bedframe, this hotel doesn't seem to and it was sorely missed. The recycling system consists of two bins with tiny text meaning one had to bend down to (try) and understand what should go where. Please improve this!! Use colours and icons, make it easy for people to recycle as we probably ended up doing it wrong. The hotel breakfast is outsourced to the restaurant in the lobby. It was not worth the 2700yen per adult, as the "main" dish you got was laughably small. Not recommended. The cafe staff however were very friendly and coffee was decent.|Would have been nice to have a coffee machine in the room, and for this class of hotel, there should have been.||All in all this was a big step up from the Richmond where we stayed last time, and I would highly recommend this property.|||This was a big step up from...
Review: SOTETSU HOTELS THE SPLAISIR YOKOHAMA
🌟 Modern, Convenient, and Thoughtfully Designed
SOTETSU HOTELS THE SPLAISIR YOKOHAMA is a fantastic option for travelers looking for a clean, well-equipped, and efficiently managed hotel in Yokohama. From the moment you step in, you can tell that everything is designed for convenience and comfort.
🏨 Rooms & Cleanliness
The hotel feels fresh and modern, with clean, well-maintained rooms. It provides most toiletries, so there’s no need to worry if you forgot something. The thoughtful amenities add to the comfort of your stay.
🛠 Tech & Convenience
One of the standout features is the tech-driven convenience: ✅ Express Checkout via TV – No need to queue at the counter. ✅ Live Breakfast Queue & Laundry Status Updates – A simple but genius feature that helps you plan your time better. ✅ Luggage Storage via Suica Card – A seamless, hassle-free way to store your bags.
🚆 Location & Accessibility
The location is a major plus—it’s close to major train lines, making it an excellent base for exploring Yokohama and beyond. Plus, with shopping malls nearby, you’ll never run out of things to do.
🍽 Dining Options
On the 4th floor (where the reception is), there’s THE CITY BAKERY and a local eatery. I tried the bakery (good coffee, average bakes), but I didn’t get a chance to try the eatery. It’s nice to have dining options within the hotel itself.
⭐ Final Verdict
For a comfortable and convenient stay in Yokohama, this hotel ticks all the right boxes. The blend of modern tech, cleanliness, and a prime location makes it a great choice for both business and leisure travelers.

Read moreLovely new hotel located above Yokohama station. Reception 4th floor with rooms floors 7-11. Spacious Rooms excellent with toilet separate and the full Toto package . Automatic sit lifting when entering . Onsen style wash room . Sit and wash and also large tub for soaking . Separate sink and vanity area as well . All the regular hotel amenities. Ultra modern tv menu system to monitor laundry availability on 7-9-11 8 machines total . With only 8 machines encountered some waiting for people to remove their clothing . Management might want to be more specific and remove clothes after 15 minutes . There is no excuse for people not picking up laundry promptly . Your phone has an alarm use it ! Some noise leakage via room doors . Could possibly be quieter . City bakery hours were too short for my liking and standard Americano seemed on the light side . 6 pm closing , would have loved a tea after 6 pm . Staff were spending hour from 6-7 closing but not serving , surely this is confusing to customers . Perhaps could be extended with tourism boom - late check ins may be disappointed . Staff did not mention a second outlet in Newoman open later . Large fitness room with treadmills , gliders , cycles , free weights , pulley based station, Bosu balls and yoga mats . Good floor space if you want to get on a mat and stretch . Towels and water dispenser are in gym . Connected to lively food options on 2nd and 3rd floors . There’s even a salon adjacent to Splaisir entrance for hair care . That was very convenient . All in all ,very impressive affordable, larger sized rooms , great location . Still trying to figure out if I received 5$...
