The large size is a huge amount of food--too much even on an empty stomach (since leaving uneaten food in Japan is taboo, next time I'll just get medium)! Noodles are thick and flat. The broth is very good, but paying an extra ¥50 yen for "spice" is truly worth it because it really livens up the bowl and gives the broth the "whoopee!" it is otherwise missing (in my opinion). Much better with "spice", which is spicy but not distractingly so; garlic is optional at no extra charge, but overpowering. The "spice" really levels the soup up a notch and rounds the bowl out. Any rāmen restaurant one says he will probably return to dine at is at least 3.5/5 overall. One major thing that holds this rāmen restaurant back from being truly spectacular is the boiled pork, which is bland and unexciting. Since my initial visit, I've been back many (25) times. Addicting stuff. Delicious. I'll be back...
Good ramen, huge portions! If you are really hungry this is the place to go! They have small, medium and large size and you can get different Number of pork 2 or 5 and with it without egg. They have some other topping options as well, thick style noodles. They will ask you if you want garlic if you like garlic then it is great but if you don’t be careful they put a large scoop of garlic which I like personally but some may not. Broth is pretty basic nothing too special. Pork chashu is very good and you get a lot. You pay at the machine in the front and get a ticket they have a translated English menu off to the side too. I got a medium with 5 pork and I could barley finish it. Good ramen and a good price and you get a lot for...
Read moreThis is the best rem I've ever had, here in Japan or the states, it's that good. It is an incredibly hearty ramen, fatty (if you want) oily and so rich in flavor, whichever ramen you chose. My favorite is the spicy miso with extra spicy shichimi an seasoned boiled egg and 2 slices of chashu pork. This is on the list as one of my all-time favorite dishes, it might be my favorite. Not expensive at all, has a homey, humble feel to it and is just so good. It is the definition of soul-food both heart and gut-warming. Something to not pass up if...
