Very close to Ugawara station, is a very local shop, with just a few tables on the tatami room that get crowded as soon as lunch time hits. Specialized in seafood (teishoku) the restaurant offers all kinds of traditional sets (rice, miso soup, okazu, pickles, chawan mushi, donburi etc) with fresh sea food. Even thought the place seems to be very famous because of the アジフライ (fried mackerel) and the sashimi sets, it’s worth asking the super friendly elderly couple that runs the place what’s the recommendation. Fresh fish, cold beer and a nice lady who serves dishes made us comfortable.
It located 5-10mins walk from Ugawara station. It has "zashiki" which has low tables and zabutons on tatami. Japanese love zashiki style because you can sit easily and be relaxed .
I got beer and sashmi mori which is piles of low fish, shrimps and squid! Great!
My husband got a big serving of rice (the lady asked if it was enough).we shared sashmi (this is for 2 people) We recommend miso soup if you don't get it. Umai!we guess the broth made from fresh fish taken near beach.
