Amazing food and drinks, unfortunately very slow service, the food was so nice however, that it was worth the wait.
We arrived at 20:00 and left at 22:00: we had a shared starter and a main, so the kitchen was running slow; it was a full house.
I will no doubt go again, but only if I am not in a hurry!
Update (return) Google constraints prevented me from writing a new review, so I've updated my original post.
Upon our recent visit to Lazin' the service was impeccably prompt and timely, with the staff seamlessly weaving their way into our evening at just the right moments, ensuring no disturbances.
The food... It's clear the chef pours heart and soul into every dish! We began with a sumptuous starter of gamba, scallops, peppers, spring onions and chorizo, enveloped in a harmonious sauce. My main dish, a perfectly rare sirloin, boasted a peppercorn sauce that might very well be the best in Jersey, if not beyond. The seare and seared fat perfection, tempting me to place a repeat order had I the room!
The wine selection was great.
All in all, Lazin' has earned nothing less than a stellar 5-star rating from me.
Thanks all for a great time, we...
Read moreAbsolutely fantastic time this evening, first time visiting and will certainly be back.
I had the Goats' Cheese Filo and Jerk Chicken. Both were delicious. I requested no rocket on my second course as I'm allergic to Arugula. First course came with a delicious salad but it had rocket (didn't say on menu) - it's a rare allergy so happy to just pick it out.
The chicken was delicious, albeit rather conservative on spice level, it was tremendously tasty.
My companion had the prawns with garlic butter and chilli, then the Durban curry - both again were conservative on spice level, but catering one spice level for all is never easy. Again, both were very tasty nonetheless.
Service overall was brilliant: friendly, welcoming, and relaxed. The only thing I would say is the way I was almost barked at when asking if they had any sort of hot sauce, I was abruptly informed, "Tomato or mayo only."
We will certainly be returning, already organising a choir social there in the near future....
Read moreWe just returned to Lazin Lizard on May 16, 2024 for dinner. After visiting a tear ago from Gloucester, Mass. Tonight we had three “Love Bite” cocktails between the two of us😀. The combination flavors blew us away. My wife had the sea Bass with fried risotto cakes and the affogato dessert, which were both outstanding. I had the risotto cakes topped with asparagus which was sensational; our best meal in Jersey. Lazin Lizard is also a perfect place to have lunch on a Saturday, after walking the Rail Trail from Corbiere to St. Aubin. We love the very creative food menu and its truly awesome cocktail menu. Ewa, our waitress from Poland and Neil, the bar tender from Sri Lanka were very friendly and helpful. I had a chat with the owner who is from Durban, South Africa. His background explains why the food offerings are so diverse and delicious. Lazin Lizard is our go to...
