We were looking forward to some really authentic italian food based on ratings on TripAdvisor. Unfortunately we didn't enjoy our experience. Service was abismally slow and food was less than mediocre having waited over an hour for main course which was only two pasta dishes. The carbonara was overcooked.... like baby food... it tasted like it was full of cream. The 'chicken' (hardly any chicken) penne was also overcooked and tasteless... When asked by the owner how our food was we told him we thought it was tasteless and overcooked at which point he became very defensive and began arguing with us as we tried to eat our meal which was quite unpleasant and intimidating. He also told us that an hour wasn't long to wait for food. I ate two forkfuls of my meal and just gave it back. We left dissatisfied having paid the full bill for food that was not eaten.... I'm sorry we paid this. Owner was not open to any feedback at all. On observing other meals and diners.... they didn't look good or happy. This was one of our worst...
Read moreIf you want an authentic Italian, please avoid this place. I don’t have to say anything apart from look at the attached pictures of our food. We waited and booked a table late so they had time to get us space which we understand on a Friday night.

Next we waited for our mains for another 24 minutes but after a few of us burning our mouths from the steaming hot microwaved overcooked pasta, we decided to leave. Going to argue the bill now… wrote this review instead of eating the appalling “authentic Italian” main that has been put in front of me.
Would have given 1 star if it wasn’t for the bar downstairs where Dave entertained us and poured great draft beer whilst we waited for a table,...
Read moreJust back from a week in Jersey, we came across Bellagio whilst looking for somewhere to eat and drink. Downstairs is a smart but very friendly bar, with an Irish feel, where the owner and customers made us feel very welcome and soon felt very at home, chatting with everyone. Our drinks were quickly remembered across three days of visits. Upstairs is a lovely Italian restaurant with a friendly, family feel and again we soon found ourselves chatting with the owner and his son. The food was delicious and sensibly priced. Needless to say we visited three times during our stay and felt very comfortable throughout. We would highly recommend the bar and restaurant to anyone...
