Bolero Bistro — Restaurant in St. Helier

My 14yr old daughter and I called in to Bolero Bistro for a Pizza whilst staying at the Savoy Hotel opposite. We were met with a grunt, from the owner, large man 60's. Grey hair. We sat with menus for 20 mins whilst he chatted to a group of 3 who'd already finished their meal (the only others in there) There was a smell of parrafin type heaters, and at 30 mins of complete ignorance I was thinking of leaving. The place was prioritising takeaway orders as several drivers/riders came collected and left.At 8.30 he took our order, at 8.50 two pizzas appeared, they were hot and ok. We asked for a box for my daughters left over pizza he obliged although manhandling it by hand to squeeze it in yeuck! He was animated with the delivery guys and local visitors but...

Absolutely fantastic experience the staff went out of their way to make sure I felt comfortable and had everything I needed the food was fantastic and the portions were large which i failed to eat everything given to me. Excellent food, service and value for money. The next time I go to Jersey I will definitely be going...

We went to eat because it was close to our hotel and we liked the sound of it (it had been a long day), and what a find. Delicious Madeiran/Portuguese cuisine in a laid back, friendly atmosphere. Luckily close on this occasion, but if I were in St Helier again I'd go out of my way...
