Petisco Tradicional — Restaurant in St. Helier

Didn't want to eat in town centre. Seen this place on Google reviews. Don't let the cafe/takeaway at the front put you off.

Nice menu with daily specials. The waitperson was helpful, patient and polite. It is a smaller restaurant and thankfully the tables are not crammed in. Background music was at a nice level with decent tunes. Pint of Carlsburg was nice, nicer than I had in some town pubs. Food was hot, tasty and plentiful at a reasonable price. What a find. We walked past this during the day and saw it was open in the evening so returned. The menu is quite small but nice choices. Our food was clearly freshly cooked and was utterly delicious. Neither fast nor slow to be served and a good sized portion. Whilst the place was quiet for dine in, there appeared to be a good local take out trade-not to the detriment of the eat in service. Desserts were lovely and appeared home made like the mains. Had to give the lowest score unfortunately 😞 visited in person & ordered takeaway... Chicken satay & chicken korma with chips £21 paid in good faith waited 40mins received it took it back to our holiday residence..very shocked & let down ....it's was tasteless cubed rubbery chicken swimming in the most disgusting watered down sauce ever......took it back money was waiting on my return ..I went with out food that night ...we will be giving this place a wide birth ...not impressed at all !!!!!
