A Mixed Experience with Disappointing Follow-up
Initial Visit: Our first experience at this establishment presented a blend of positive elements and areas for improvement. The ambiance was notably pleasant, featuring outdoor seating complemented by subtle background music that enhanced the dining atmosphere without being intrusive. The staff demonstrated commendable service, contributing to an initially positive impression.
Culinary Experience: The menu offerings, however, yielded mixed results. Our main courses, Sayadiyah and a grilled dish, fell short of expectations. The fish component of the Sayadiyah lacked moisture and flavor, while the grilled option, though flavorful, was disproportionately small relative to its price point.
The appetizer selection fared better, with standout items including the kibbeh neya, hummus, and various salads. However, the sausages did not meet the same standard of quality.
A significant highlight was the "Um Ali" dessert, which stood out as an exceptional culinary experience, unparalleled in its taste and quality.
Follow-up Incident: Regrettably, a subsequent incident has necessitated an update to this review. Upon recommending the establishment to friends, specifically for the outstanding Um Ali dessert and coffee, they encountered an unexpectedly inhospitable response. The restaurant refused service, insisting that ordering only dessert and coffee was insufficient and that a full meal order was required for seating.
This policy, not previously disclosed, stands in stark contrast to the practices of other high-end establishments and significantly detracts from the overall impression of the restaurant. Such an approach to customer service is particularly disappointing given the initial positive experiences.
Conclusion: While the initial visit showed promise in certain areas, particularly in ambiance and select menu items, the subsequent incident reflects poorly on the establishment's customer service philosophy. This experience underscores the importance of consistent, welcoming service in the hospitality industry, an area where this restaurant has unfortunately...

The cooked breakfast food tastes like it needs a punch, you feel it lacks something but you don’t know what it is, not salt not pepper, rather something else. The balance of flavors is off except in a one preparation or another like their Apples slices marinated in cinnamon water or grapes invigorated with cardamom marinade. Hummus is exceptional too.
Pastries (manaqeesh, jubna) were NOT at least warm. Their pita bread lacks some salt in the dough. Their pomegranate was too sour, the hollandaise on their egg benedict didn’t have any tanginess to it until I asked to fix, the chef was kind enough to fix it and he brought it himself.
The servers are the main weak point of the restaurant, they are kind but maybe they are understaffed. There’s a lady behind the food stations who could use some smiling because she couldn’t help but to wear on a very straight face/poker at best.
I have to say that Mr. Wesam tried his best to go above and beyond while hustling between different tables. Again it seems the waiters are understaffed.
The finished dishes remain unpicked unless you ask for that, and the staff are inattentive unless you point this out. And, Fairmont Amman is supposed to be a 5-star hotel, I have had better service at 3-star hotels.
Hospitality level begs to differ here and grow up to were it originally was.
For me, and unfortunately, Nur Lebanese breakfast has been dethroned as the best available breakfast in Amman.
I hope something changes and it becomes better, but how’d I know because I am not going back again here for...
Read moreCame in for a set menu lunch. Smoking area. Though live entertainment was on, we cant see or enjoy it as we are in an isolated area. Proceeding with cold starters, worst of all, couldn't find much good food to eat, fattouch was a presentation more than anything with one whole lettuce laying on a plate surrounded with large pcs of thickly cut cucumber. Tabbouleh had no oil lemon or salt, simply tasteless. So was freekeh salad. Fetta was fluid watery. I learned later that it was eggplant fetta though hardly found any bread or eggplant. Beetroot doesnt taste beetroot instead powered with tahina or yoghurt. Batarakh had too much garlic punch to it. Fish tarabolseyeh had shells in it. Moving on to hot starters which were better than cold. Best was kobbe sajeyyeh, worst was fried kobbe too doughy. Desserts were not impressive especially layali lobnan. No effort shown. Main dishes were fine, expected much better refined dishes. Anyhow it was a flop for us. Wont repeat it again. Much much much better places out there...
