It’s a nice place, certainly worth a visit. The food was splendid, from appetizers to mains to deserts – both in terms of taste and presentation. The appetizers – crudo bar & antipasti (Manzo Tradizionale, Tonno Battuto, Fritto) were very tasty, well presented and portions were just OK. 3 out of 4 of us were very happy with the mains (Secondi) selected (mainly fish – sea bass, cod). The mains (Secondi) meat menu is quite limited and uninspiring, unless you go for the steak house part of this place which has a range of premium cuts (didn’t try though). Overall, too many dishes across the menu were infused with truffles flavoring, which I found limiting the menu choice for somebody not looking for “fake” truffle aroma. Two dishes were not available, one of them was my first choice, so a little disappointment. The deserts were creative, well presented, and well portioned. Otherwise, the dishes had an authentic and interesting twist, so this is not the standard Italian. The ambience was nice – we experienced sunset timing view over Amman, and lighting and background music in the restaurant had a nice vibe. The service team was very friendly and efficient, though they still need to get up the learning curve massively to reach the level this place seeks to be at - both in terms of (high) price...
Read moreI recently visited Roberto’s for a special birthday celebration and was extremely disappointed by the service. The experience was abysmal and deserves less than zero stars for service.
Upon arrival, we were greeted by an employee named Hala at the front. We had made a reservation well in advance and specifically requested a table with a view for our special occasion. Instead, Hala seated us at a terrible table next to a wall, even though there were plenty of empty tables with a view. When we politely requested a nicer table, she insisted that those tables were reserved for other guests who might sit there later or at the bar.
We mentioned that we too had made a reservation and emphasized the importance of the occasion, but Hala remained unhelpful and dismissive. It was frustrating to see those prime tables remain empty throughout our meal and even until we left at midnight.
While the food was good, the horrendous service completely overshadowed our dining experience. Hala’s rude and discriminatory behavior has left a lasting negative impression, and we will not be returning to Robertos. If this is how they treat their customers, I cannot recommend this place to anyone seeking a memorable and pleasant...
Read moreFirst of all, I expected more from this restaurant. Our experience was okay at best.
The meal started off strong with the starters, we got an array of tortellini, raviolis, burrata salad, oysters, and a fig salad. This part was great and we were happy with everything we had. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill from here; our entrees were about 35 minutes late - probably forgotten about - and we had to ask about them twice until they came out. The meat was not cooked the way we requested it, and the sides were very underwhelming. In general the mains were very unremarkable and not worth their trouble or price.
That being said, the server Mohammad Halah was very quick to fix the situation, he had my flank steak replaced by one that is cooked according to my desire, and he was being very nice and understanding. They even brought us some free dessert - which was the redemption of this experience to be honest. The mango passion fruit cheesecake was amazing, and the tiramisu was creamy and delicious.
I understand that the restaurant is still in its early opening, but I really hope they step it up to live up to not only the price tag, but also the expectations...
