Tanuki — Restaurant in Almaty

It was my birthday, had a lunch there, food was okay. I wouldn’t say authentic Japanese but the environment is nice. Only complain is service. The lady who welcomed us in the front door said there is a 25% discount for birthdays, she took picture of my ID. when I receive the cheque there was no discount, I told the waiter, he came back with 20% discounted cheque saying I should inform him in advance about birthday discount in advance. It's rude to say sth like that to a customer when you already presented your ID. Apparently that lady didn't inform the waiter, indicating poor internal management and lack of communication. Had the salmon poke bowl and fell in love at first bite. For being Central Asia (and me being an absolute FAN of poke bowls) this really hit the spot for me. Would have loved for some fried onion to be sprinkled on top or some red onion to give it a little crunch. Or a little lettuce/spinach mixed in with the rice.
