FM Hostel Almaty — Hotel in Almaty

We had a private room. The size was good, but the bed was way too big, also they placed a high desk and two high chairs in the room, making it impossible to move inside the room.||||The bed was very hard and we had to put the sheets on the mattress, pillow and blanket on ourselves, while the employess were watching TV or playing on their smartphone. They do not speak English by the way and have not answered my email regarding how to get there from the airport. What was worse, the room had not been cleaned. We found hair, dust and even a tissue. Bathroom was ok, but very old and not in a good shape.||||Also, it seems like an "unofficial" hostel, because the sign outdoor is for a beauty salon. The hostel is in the back of the beauty salon and even when we asked employess next door, they did not know anything about the hostel.||||Wifi was nearly non-existent in our room, only in the reception area.||||Positive was that there is a bus stop right in front of the hostel and in 200m walking distance is a huge mall with a food court and a big...

The only thing I liked was location, it is in a quite good place.

I stayed with my friends in a double room and a dormitory room. Both rooms are too warm because of the heating system and it appears there are no windows in the rooms. We asked to lower the temperature of the heating system but the staff declined to do that. So if you stay there be ready for that. The wifi was very horrible, it did not work at all in rooms. This hostel is very basic, quite dark and not very uplifting with the location close to a big road. However, the people working there are warm and there is free parking! And the location is not bad. They can wash for you at a low cost. Filtered, cold water is free and available. To sum up, not charming...
