Came here to try some authentic Kazakh food and it didn’t disappoint! The food was incredible! If I had to find a flaw it would be that the waiter didn’t exactly listen to us… We were a group of 5 friends visiting Astana for the first time and asked the waiter to give us a little bit of everything. He quickly gave us lots of recommendations and came up with a delicious combo dish. When he explained it, it sounded like too much food but he kept on insisting that it wasn’t. It indeed was… we could only eat half of the food that was served. It felt that he ordered food for twice the people on the table. Regardless, we had a great time! And the service was excellent (excluding the aforementioned) Really recommended place!

Very nice decor, attention to detail in the decoration and Kazakh cultural items on display, good ambience, and most importantly a service with a smile. Did not make a solo traveler feel lonely! The food was tasty. I had a Funchoza starter, which was flavoursome with delicate taste of the ingredients. Then it was 2 kebab portions - lamb and lamb liver, which was succulent. The liver kebab can at times be with too much fatty covering in other places, but not here. Great choice of local food here. Overall was a very good meal at a fair price considering the location and level of service. The waiter was attentive enough to advise that I may change my chosen main dish if I was in a hurry. Will definitely come back here

Как гость из другой страны, мне захотелось перекусить национальной казахской кухни. Выбор пал на ресторан Саксаул. Итак, что можно отметить из положительного в данном ресторане: 1. Расположение, центральней некуда ))) 2. Интерьер хороший, не затасканый 3. Место не из шумных, можно спокойно пообщаться и перекусить, если бы не одно но (смотри в минусах) 4. Неплохой ассортимент в меню 5. Доступные цены. А теперь о минусах: 1. Ну очень навязчивый персонал. Не стоит так часто спрашивать гостей как дела и т.д - это единственное, что мешало общению, каждый раз сбивая и отвлекая от мысли 2. Очень долго ждали подачу, ссылаясь на большую посадку, однако во вторник в половине второго было не более четверти заполнения зала 3. Шурпа из баранины оказалась недоваренная, в частности картофель был целый и не проваренный, саму баранину хоть и удалось отделить от кости, но предварительно не порезав ножом есть было невозможно 4. На вопрос официанта в конце обеда - "как Вам понравилось", я ответил что шурпа недоваренная, поэтому я не смог ее доесть, никакой реакции не поступило. Хотя как минимум можно было бы принести извинения. Ради справедливости, стоит также отметить, что плов, салат ачичук и баурсаки были вполне съедобными. Зелёный чай - чай как чай, ничего особенного (хотя цена обещала получить больше удовольствия за последний, а оказалось нечем не отличается от пакетированного магазинного чая). Посетил бы я ещё ресторан Саксаул, если бы у меня был выбор? Наверное нет. Выявленных для меня в ходе посещения минусов вполне хватило, чтобы перечеркнуть все плюсы. В конце хотелось бы пожелать владельцам ресторана и администратору, если конечно они читают отзывы, это доработать выявленные недостатки. И конечно всех благ и процветания.

Amazing experience in Saksaul. First of all, thank Takhir for his kindness and service, second I would like to thank the restaurant manager Didst as the hospitality provided was excellent, even he gave me a little souvenir, something that I collect and that I very much appreciate. The food was extraordinary, very nice and tasty and the environment cannot be better. I strongly recommend this place for a very nice meal. Thank you all for this experience! I'm sure that if I go back to Astana (Nur-Sultan) I'll go back to Saksaul!

Saksaul is soooooo good!! My friend and I came here for dinner (his second visit in two days) and just loved the warm and friendly hospitality (thank you Diana and your team, you made the experience so great for us!!), rich hearty Kazakh cuisine, and colourful environment. Without realising we passed the hours so quickly, deciding at 12:30am it was probably time we left… 🤣 If you’re looking for great local food in central Astana, and somewhere to really relax and feel at home, this is it 100%!

Our favourite place in Astana. We found it late in the evening and treated ourselves with vodka+coffee (both really good). And then we got back for more - I liked the breakfast and specially the soup and pilaf! Excellent. The staff was always polite and kind, English speaking. Generally the atmosphere had its vibe of high-end place - while the prices were totally decent. I can surely recommend.
