Went to Kettle House on a Saturday afternoon. The DJ was playing very cool reggae music. I am not particularly fond of reggae but the DJ was doing his thing and as the hrs went by the transition was on point
We had fish which was massive NGL! The person who ordered the fish was not even able to finish it. It was not alright. I had fish fingers which were average and lacked flavour. The fries were average as well and if you can make fries taste terrible then you need improvement. We also had mbuzi and the waiter said they could honey glaze it but what showed up at the table was a joke. They offered honey in a small butter bowl. The two people eating the mbuzi could not finish it and said it did not taste very good.
We also ordered juice at least that was alright albeit average as well.
It took forever to get our food and drinks. The waiters would show up and you would ask for a bottle of water and they would disappear for an hour. The food order took so long I left my friends and took a walk outside and returned before it was ready. The juice order came out wrong and had to go back to be rectified. Even the bill took forever and we almost got up to leave to trigger them to come to us and get the bill
Now this is where things got interesting it was laughable. We ended up with I don’t know how many waiters crowding our table for the bill. Apparently Keytle House itself just does the drinks and the food comes from all the other people around them. So there was a separate bill for juice, another for water, another for food and another for I don’t remember what these guys were so overwhelming I lost track of what they were asking for I think it was for the coffee one of us had.
And one even said they could not swipe our card we look for cash to pay them. Imagine the inconvenience!! It would be nice if they could figure a way around payment so it does not look like there is a problem at a table when waiters show up around you all asking for payment and others confirming your order amongst themselves right in front of you.
I would recommend Kettle House for a drink as they offer that as it is a bar but please eat somewhere else. No need for average service and average food and a dozen waiters. I don’t even think the drinks will come fast because even a bottle of water took forever to show up and that was being sold by Kettle House not the other guys

Read moreAlot of discrimination. I went to have a beer on a afriday night. Sat at the counter, the place was quite place. This is only place with space, and veing a lady and alone it was safer here. Few min later, a bouncer (man) walks to me and tells me on my face that I should leave the place. I ask why of course, he arrogantly says he has nothing to explain so I refuse to leave. He calls 2 more bouncers so they could throw me out,I ask the guy serving me at the counter what was going on and he too doesn't seem to understand. He tells me i should beg them to stay. It's an exchange between me, 2 men bouncers and a lady bouncer( he had asked for reinforcement). The security lady is now holding my bag, everyone around me is staring helplessly. I give up and follow the lady bouncer ,she wants to hold my hand as if am being arrested, I refuse and tell her I can walk. We get outside and the security man(first bouncer) is now telling to seat outside and wait for the bar man to come so I could pay him(left my beer half full). All this time he is being rude to me for no apparent reason . Anyway,I just left. Hope he paid for my beer. Hate the place! Being discriminated in my own country. Friday 19th August 2022. A day I will...
Read moreTerrible Experience – Dishonest Staff and Poor Management
My friends and I recently dined here, and I can confidently say it was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. The waiting staff blatantly tried to scam us! We ordered a bottle of wine clearly priced at 2,500 on the menu and on the bottle. However, when the bill arrived, we noticed they had handwritten 7,500 on the receipt instead.
When we called them out and asked to speak with the manager, they sent over a supervisor who couldn’t have cared less about the situation. No apology, no explanation—just a dismissive attitude as if this was routine.
It’s shocking that such dishonest practices are allowed to happen, and the lack of accountability from management only made it worse. I strongly urge anyone considering dining here to think twice. If you do, scrutinize your bill carefully because this place seems to think scamming customers is acceptable. Absolutely...
