On a normal day La Salumeria is nice and pleasant, their waiting staff are an eclectic bunch but usually professional none the less. Tonight however, our experience was exceptionally poorly. First the restaurant did not answer their phones for more than a day to take the reservation and apparently do not listen/respond to their voicemail. On arrival, we were barely greeted but instead repeatedly asked by 3 different waiters (who did not seat us) how many people we were while we tried to make our own way to our choice table. The T-bone steaks we ordered were very tough and when we attempted to surprise the birthday girl with a cake for dessert (that we were charged Ksh1,500 corkage for) it required stepping away from the table TWICE for a back and forth with two waiters and culminated in an uncoordinated literal whisper of two different birthday tunes. The whispered birthday tunes did not extend beyond a phrase and was over so quickly we did not manage to even take a picture, let alone record it. The surprise was also spoiled by the fact that they set down the plates and forks long before bringing out the cake (with no knife to cut it!) Not a great experience for our first time guests, particularly not the...
Read moreI have visited this restaurant with my friend around 15:30 for having tea and sweet if possible. When we visited there was no guest, was empty. Then we asked a guy who is setting a table he didn't welcome to us, didn't stop what he is doing for table then he just told us "WE don't serve you for only sweets and tea.Must have meal as lunch then serve sweets for you..."without sorry feelings... We have felt so unwelcome and he doesn't want us to serve or he sounds so snab/arrogant. Then also he told us like...I know this lady she has visited here before but I don't know you.... so what? Does it mean like he will not acccept new guest?? My friend has showed me this restaurant then can you imagine how the guest feel? We have mentioned to him about his behavior and arrogant. And we will never come to this restaurant and will not introduce to our friends. It was the lowest quality of services....
That guy he is wearing black glasses and short, also he told us he is a manager of this restaurant. He is not deserved to be a manager or...
Read moreI don’t usually write reviews unless I've had a bad experience. I would rate La Salumeria restaurant zero stars if I could. The restaurant didn’t have a designated place for prayer. Although my two friends and I found our own place to pray there, the owner approached us. He said we couldn’t use the fresh napkins to pray on the floor. It's worth nothing that napkins often fall on the floor, and people use them to wipe mouths and noses. We spent over $70 dollars in this nearly empty restaurant, with fewer than 5 customers present. The owner showed ingratitude; he should respect his customers needs and provide a prayer space. If unable to provide much, the owner shouldn’t complain about using a small napkin for prayer, especially considering he has to wash all the dirty napkins. I don’t recommend visiting here; although the food is okay, the owner lacks good customer service and respect for...
