Back to South Korea at KI:WA From the heavy brassware to gyeranjjim, this is South Korea. Went with chef Jun's recommendation and was not disappointed.
Sikhye is a traditional sweet rice punch and was served after the meal. It's the slushie type of sikhye and nicely cleans the palate.
Gyeranjjim (steamed egg) I've had gyeranjjim many times before but nothing as silky as the one they serve here! Just how?!
Tofu Salad pleasantly drizzled in rice vinegar i think? The simple well balanced dressing wasnt overpowering at all.
Deep fried shrimp tempura was fresh and crispy! Not to be compared with regular tempuras with obvious thawed shrimps used.
Seafood pajeon is something that will surprise many i believe. I love pajeon (savoury pancake) and this was even better than the ones I had in South Korea - NO LIE
Tteokgalbi soft and chewy beef short rib patties with a hint of sweetness. Kids will also love this which is accompanied by sautéed broccoli, baby carrots and brussels sprouts.
Galbi sous vide cooked for 6hours was fantastically soft and perfectly pairs with pepper cream dipping sauce. This was presented with its own warmer so it stays warm while you eat it with your side dishes.
Creamy tteokbokki was amazing! My niece confused it with pasta because somehow the sauce just uniquely works well with rice cakes.
Mochi ice cream, need i say more?
KI:WA is easily one of the restaurants I will keep going back to. Congratulations on the opening and see you...
Read moreI feel extremely disappointed today. My family and I went out for dinner, and initially, we were warmly welcomed by a lady who seemed happy to have us there. My 3-year-old son was with us, playing with a spoon, when Mr. Henry approached and claimed that my child was disturbing others. I was completely shocked—seriously, Henry? A little child was bothering you? If kids aren’t welcome, that should have been clearly stated beforehand. I regret not speaking up right then and there. This felt like clear discrimination! We will never visit or recommend...
Read moreThis isn’t the first, second, or even third time I’ve been to this place. Me & the Mrs are avid sushi lovers and I’ve tried all the trending/new sushi places here in Kuwait (hotels, malls, dine-in, etc.) NOTHING comes close to the quality of sushi I consistently have here at Kiwa. The atmosphere is cozy, the staff are more than attentive and friendly, let alone that the chef comes over every now & then to check up on your satisfaction. I cannot recommend this place more to anyone, you’re in for a positive shock (try the...
