The food here is good and you'd enjoy it a lot if you are a fan of Japanese food. We ordered soup, maki rolls, negimiyaki, vegetable udon noodles, crispy tempura tacos and the spicy crabstick avocado salmon salad.

I haven't been to Maki since I was a child and I can definitely tell that their food changed. The salad seemed to lack a certain flavor that I remember from my childhood however it is still very good!

The rolls were amazing and have such beautiful plating presentations. They tasted fresh and the flavors all blended well together. The negimiyaki is exactly how I remember it - tender meat with a sweet and salty sauce.

The miso soup was very good too, it was very rich and felt great in this cold weather.

The taco was decent, it could have used some more flavor in my opinion.

The service and staff were extremely friendly and were so eager and happy to help us with our order.

They also gave us a free complimentary cheesecake for my mom's birthday.

I would order the salad, negimiyaki, and the...

Maki is one of the restaurants that is uniquely Kuwaiti. It serves delicious Japanese Makis (exactly). I first tried Maki at Burj Jassim and I later visited 2 other branches: the Marina waves and the Avenues.

Sadly, the Avenues branch closed and I believe there are only 2 left.

This restaurant is expensive. But the food is great with generous proportions. My favorite is the Volcano Maki. The first time I ate it at Burj Jassim, the volcano was bigger and substantial. About 4 years later, the volcano has shrunk. I am quite disappointed with the consistency. The rice roll before was smaller than the volcano and the volcano was quite steep. But now, it seems like the volcano has erupted and all that is left is a flat volcano. The rice roll overwhelms the teeny tiny volcano on top of it.

I would still eat at Maki in the future but the situation would be something like I am very hungry and I am...

I recently visited Maki Restaurant in Kuwait, and I was thoroughly impressed. The food was absolutely delicious, with a wide variety of sushi and Japanese-inspired dishes that were fresh and full of flavor. The presentation of each dish was also beautifully done, enhancing the overall dining experience.

What made the experience even better was the staff—they were incredibly humble, attentive, and made sure that we were well taken care of throughout the meal. The ambiance of the restaurant was warm and inviting, making it perfect for both casual dining and special occasions.

Overall, I highly recommend Maki for anyone looking for a fantastic dining...

The Avacado salad and Isa Maki were as good as ever. What was not great, was the way greeting was done on entering. As you enter you get an annoyed 'Yes?' Like your restaurant is off the Marina crescent. Did he think I was lost and just ambled in? Decided to move outside cos the weather was great but that was met with a 'let me see if there are any free tables' when clearly there were a couple or so through the glass. And the timing between courses was too long...at one time was just sitting looking at the table. Seriously, need to update the attitude and the service at this branch. 3 stars for the food and view.
