Very Disappointing Experience – Poor Service and Communication
I had a truly unfortunate experience at this restaurant. From the moment we arrived, the service was disorganized and unprofessional. Our waitress barely spoke English and didn’t understand Russian either, which made communication difficult. She seemed unsure of the menu and didn’t offer any assistance or clarity when we ordered.
Shockingly, one of the dishes we ordered was completely forgotten. Despite me confirming the order, my meal was never served. No apology was offered — not when the mistake happened, not later when we addressed it while paying. Instead of showing any concern, the staff responded with indifference and a lack of basic customer care.
To make matters worse, we had to ask multiple times for cutlery after the food was already on the table. The attitude of the staff, especially the woman at the bar, was rude and dismissive. They brought far more utensils than needed and acted as if we were inconveniencing them by simply asking for the basics.
At the end of the visit, when we asked for the bill and mentioned the missing dish, the response was careless and unprofessional: “So you didn’t get your food? Do you still want it or not?” At that point, we were ready to leave and never come back.
There was absolutely no attempt to fix the issue or to acknowledge their mistake. If I could give this place -5 stars, I would. Definitely would not recommend...
Read moreI visited this café in 2025. The food wasn’t bad, but it also wasn’t good. Here’s my honest opinion based on what I personally managed to try:
The non-alcoholic drinks were disappointing. You couldn’t really taste anything except Sprite. I was especially let down by the blueberry mojito—there was no blueberry flavor at all, just Sprite. So honestly, you could just order a Sprite instead, but then it shouldn’t cost €5. Maybe the alcoholic versions are better, but the non-alcoholic drinks were definitely not worth it.
I tried several versions of the chicken skewers. They were tasty, no complaints there. They came with French fries, which were good—larger than the standard thin fries you usually get, but still tasted like basic fries, not like proper roasted or homemade potatoes. Ketchup was served with them, though I could have asked for something else if I wanted. The portions were generous, you won’t leave hungry. Still, the price—over €10—felt too high for what you get. The food wasn’t anything particularly special or memorable, and at the end of the day, they were still just fries and skewers.
Overall: Drinks were bad, food was okay, but the price doesn’t match the quality. I’d recommend looking for another place if you’re in Kuldīga, though I can’t suggest a specific...
Read moreNegative experience. I was there together with 2 local friends (Mentioning this so that language and nationality is not an excuse) we arrived, the staff saw us but they kept talking while we went to take a table, the table was dirty as previous customers just left, it took like 10 minutes for the girl to come to clean the table which she actually cleaned only half, she gave us only 2 menus while we were 3 people and she didn't say Hello, Welcome or any cordiality. We were waiting for her to come back to finish cleaning the table or to take our order while surprisingly she came to the table next to us, whose people arrived a couple of minutes later than us but they brought food for them before they brought us the menu. By conversation it was understandable that they were their friends. Nice service to them but not to others. We decided to leave as we didn't want to waste time and money on people with such primitive attitude, went instead to Kursas Zeme around the corner where service...
