Touristy place, great in the off-season! The spices used in the Latvian Snack Platter (pickled cucumber, onions, carrot) convince me that this dish must be quite authentic. The fish is of excellent quality and reminds me of my (coastal German) origins. Besides the combination of flavors, the presentation is also spotless. Naturally I cannot extrapolate to the rest of the menu, but I consider the selection of dishes to be diverse but not overwhelming. The bartender knows his cocktails and had a nice recommendation, executed well. The service was outstanding, even with some historical information sprinkled in 😁. In the off-season, there isn’t much business and this place earns a recommendation — the price is well worth the experience. Special recommendation for the chocolate fondant cake — delicious with the melted chocolate, berries and ice cream. Warming in winter, cooling in summer. Only change I recommend is to put something else on the TV which doesn’t detract from the otherwise cozy atmosphere — football does not exactly fit this place.

My family of 14 and I came here because a lot of the other restaurants were fully booked or required a reservation. I'm glad we made the decision! I ordered the steak with truffle mushroom sauce, and the truffle mushroom sauce was amazing. The beer battered steak was good as well. We also tried the two-person shared lamb / beef steak, and it was not bad. The 1 meter sausage is a good portion for four people to share; the sausage was really good and the three sauces it came with were really good as well-- our favorite was the red one. The pickled vegetables with the sausage platter were very well marinated as well. The complimentary bread rolls and olive oil were addicting as well! The con is that the service and coming out with the dishes was extremely slow. Other than that, there is plenty of seating and good food!

Everything was wonderful. The food was delicious. I really recommend the beef. Pasta was also great. Service was excellent. The guy was so hardworking and just very sweet. The atmosphere was also very likeable. It was so nice, cozy and warm. Thank you!

The service was just awful. The waiter was rude and very disrespectful. Any question we asked, was answered with such arrogance and familiarity I’ve never seen before in my life. For instance, after I had been waiting for 15 minutes for a glass of beer, I politely asked when could I get my beer and the answer was “Well, cmon you can clearly see that we are very full right now, just wait a bit. You’ll get it soon” And for the record, they weren’t very full, since there wasn’t a single person inside and the terrace was half empty. This is just one example, there were several such conversations with the waiter and after 20 minutes Of waiting for at least something, I just decided to leave. I definitely don’t recommend this place to anyone willing to spend a nice and...
