I visited this restaurant for an early lunch meeting around 1 PM and was left underwhelmed by the experience. I ordered the grilled chicken breast with a green salad, and while the chicken was well-marinated and tasted decent, it was surprising—and disappointing—that it didn’t come with any sides considering the price. I had to pay an additional $5 for sautéed potatoes, which were just okay.
The green salad, however, was a letdown. Despite adding the provided dressing, it was bland and lacked any real flavor. Portions were adequate, but the overall taste of the food didn’t justify the steep prices. To make matters worse, the dishes were heavily seasoned with pepper for no apparent reason, which caused me to cough and tear up while eating—hardly the experience I’d hoped for.
In the end, the meal was disappointing, especially for the price point. While the chicken was decent, the lack of included sides, unappetizing salad, and overuse of pepper made this a place I wouldn’t rush back to. If you’re looking for good value and flavorful food, this might not be the...
Read moreThe Beirut Cellar is a place that immediately carries a sense of legacy and authenticity. With decades of history behind it, the restaurant feels both timeless and well-preserved, offering an atmosphere that blends warmth with elegance.
From the moment I arrived, the service stood out. One of the floor managers quickly picked up on my preferences, welcoming me with genuine attentiveness even when I decided to change tables. This kind of down-to-earth professionalism set a very positive tone.
The dining experience itself was excellent. I ordered a bottle of wine recommended by the staff along with a few dishes, and everything from the flavors to the presentation was spot on. The atmosphere, with its dimmed lights, and carefully curated music, made the meal feel intimate and special.
The indoor space is stylish and comfortable, while the small glass-covered terrace offers a more romantic setting, ideal for couples. With its vintage charm, attentive service, and consistently good food, The Beirut Cellar is one of those restaurants you’ll want to revisit...
Read moreThe New Beirut Cellar, exceeded our expectation. The decoration is lush, the service is outstanding, service is fast, and the food is very good and well presented.
The downs: The place starts to smell when overcrowded, as there are no windows inside, and bad aeration. The menu is way overpriced, it should be 33 to 50% cheaper, compared to the top restaurants and competitors in country in deep crisis. (A starter of makanek is 18$, nachos and cheese are 18$! 15$+ for a salad, 20$ for a simple burger… crazy prices.). The food is good, but not worth the price.
The burger was good, but lacked of spices and character. The fries are frozen, not home made. The green salad is not attractive, and its sauce lacks of taste. The veal escalope is amazing, the sweet chili calamari is amazing, the nachos are ace! Will try more next time.
As the place is new and buzzing, it is always packed, i am scared that because of their ridiculous prices, when the buzz wears off, people will be coming less and less. Even rich people can smell when a restaurant...
