Zaatar w Zeit — Restaurant in Port of Beirut

Very disappointed by how this branch is running. ZWZ, for me, in general is among the top restaurants where you can get an ultimate customer experience, but this branch surprised me.

Food | ZWZ chain offers a variety of sandwiches, burgers, wraps, salads, starters and desserts, some of which are slightly overpriced but overall worth every penny. After an afternoon weekday movie, I decided to have my friends try the Angus boomberger, unfortunately, we were informed that they ran out of patties! Cashier told us that only one Angus patty is available and can have the other as chicken. We agreed and placed our orders accordingly: 2 boombergurs were ordered in addition to one mighty kafta. We insisted that all meals finish together. 20 minutes after our order, we went back to the cashier to see 3 staff over the counter in such a panic mode though it was not crowded. Few minutes later our mighty kafta came in COLD, then 15 minutes later 2 CHICKEN boomburgers were done. Staff was rude and insisted that they have informed us that only chicken was available. Personally, I believe the Angus boomburger is way better than the chicken one.

Service | Staff over the cashier was friendly and knowledgeable, but other staff were loud and crowding the counter for no reason. Speed of service was very slow and unjustifiable.

I’ve always been a loyal customer of Zaatar W Zeit and frequently praised their cleanliness and food quality. However, my last experience at the City Center branch was deeply disappointing. My friend and I ate there and ended up with food poisoning. I sent an email expressing my concern and disappointment, expecting at least a response or acknowledgment, but they didn’t even bother to reply. Loved that location. Practical, fast and first choice at the Beirut souks Food court. Before watching the movie or just for quick bite, highly recommended. My favorite is their light menu, but at the end don't miss the mini brownies with the chocolate dip and the mini cheesecakes. Clean. Fresh. Friendly staff. Big variety. Affordable prices.
