This place is expensive and is a mixed bag, in terms of food and service. I've been here about a dozen of times (mostly for Beef Tartare) and tried a bunch of stuff they serve.
Beef Tartare (9/10) - a great mix of gentleness and spice. Salmon Tartare (7/10) - is fine, but nothing to write home about. Tuna (main course) is 8/10 for me, but it's drier preparation, which many people don't enjoy. Most main course meat meals are resting at 7/10, either because they are bland in terms of spice or because after ordering them multiple times the quality jumps between 7/10 and 9/10.
Burgers (both) are pathetic. If they aren't going to change, they should be removed from the menu. They are expensive, consistently overcooked, and served without anything to juice them up (like lettuce, onions, tomato, sauce), which offers the experience of chewing cardboard unless you correct the kitchen's mistake and eat it with a soft drink.
Pana Cota (9/10). I enjoy this restaurant's version, even if quite a few others match it. Souffle (7/10). It may be the one sold at frozen section of any store. Chocolate is starchy. It's served with a couple of canned cherries and a scoop of cheap icecream (or perhaps one that has been sitting in freezer for too long) .
Cocktails are a hit or miss. They have some of the more creative ones, which are always fun to try. The quality is inconsistent though, as about 1/5 times the cocktail feels off. Like espresso martini I had recently felt wattered down. It could be because their coffee (used in that cocktail) isn't great.
Service is mostly fine, but I did witness a couple of flops, like main course being brought together with appetizers leaving 1 of them to cool down and lose flavor. They aren't common, but it wasn't a 1...
Read moreI have been visiting this place for many years, but I must say that over time, the quality of service has steadily declined. Something is clearly off- whether it’s motivation or other issues..but as a customer, that’s not my problem. With a few rare exceptions, for which I am thankful, the overall experience has suffered. The restaurant allows pets, so for a couple of years now, I have been coming with my small dog, who was properly leashed and, in this particular case, dressed in a little Halloween outfit :) My dog practically has no fur, yet the lady server that evening was already visibly displeased upon our arrival. She seemed to be giving instructions to everyone, greeted us with a frown, and then told me my dog couldn’t sit next to me on the sofa. We have done this before, as have other guests with small, well-behaved pets. In short, this completely ruined my evening. Additionally, we weren’t even offered a drink, which is usually standard in establishments that welcome both people and smaller guests. .. It gave the impression that the staff are all tense, almost trying to send people out so they wouldn’t have to work. Perhaps on that Friday evening they succeeded, as the restaurant was nearly empty. On top of that, the lingering smell of burnt pizza throughout the restaurant didn’t help the atmosphere.
It’s really disappointing to see a place I’ve loved for years decline in this way. I hope the management takes note and works on improving the service and overall experience for both human and...
Read moreEmilija was a very polite and respectful server but when I arrived today 9-17 around 830 PM there was a very rude worker that did not greet me nicely. I came in and asked her till what time are you guys working? She in a rude tone responded “ Till 9 as always”. I don’t go here every day so I wouldn’t know . Then after I got seated, she came up to me again with a very big attitude and says “Yes?” When I looked up at her and told her “Menu please?”. This is not the 1st time the servers/administrators were rude to me it was around the 3rd. There is also an Elena there who does not serve guests in a nice and respectful matter. A couple of times I even thought - Do they want people even to be here? Food is great as always but the customer service out of 10 stars is definitely a 1. Will take my business to Cili...
