I thought that Hotel Skol was lovely little place, but it seems other reviewers don't agree with me, especially concerning their sleep. I had no problems at all, I don't know what they were talking about!||The hotel does not look like much from the road and, as others have said, it is at the side of a main road. But don't let that put you off, it's not as though you're sleeping next to a six lane motorway. Inside, it is charming. There is no lift which is a pain but the stairs are nicely illuminated and the corridor to the rooms is dark but strangely alluring. ||I had a single room and wow it was tiny, but it was perfectly fine for one person with a small suitcase. The bed was comfortable and the air conditioning was fantastic, it cooled the room down in no time. As others have said, it is a bit of a challenge to not flood the bedroom when having a shower, but it can be done. That being said, my shower's temperature had a mind of its own.||Downstairs is a bar and a restaurant. I had nothing to complain about the noise at all, but maybe I got lucky. I thought the bar was lovely, though. On a summer's evening, it had plenty of people in order to create an atmosphere, the beer was good (Bofferding in particular), the room was decorated nicely, there was a big spirit selection and, all in all, for a hotel bar it was brilliant. Some hotel bars have the atmosphere of a cemetery, but this was a great place to have a beer.||Car parking is free, breakfast is included, a bus into the middle of Luxembourg City is less than a minute's walk. All things considered, lovely little hotel and would highly,...

Read moreThe room was quite big and plenty of energy sockets. Good comfortable bed with very nice pillows. Nice soft bath towels. Good shower (maybe not handy there is no 2nd glas wall to keep the water in). The bus to the city centre is just across the street (10- 15 minutes drive). Belle Etoile with large supermarket is just next door. Restaurant Two6Two is just next to the building which I can highly recommend.||||I spent here 3 nights for business. I did not like the music of the bar/restaurant which is also the same area of the reception/breakfast area. If you need to work at night or want to sleep before midnight, to have a proper rest do not stay here. Every night the music was playing loud until midnight or even up till 1 AM. After 11 PM they even turned up the music so I had to get down to complain. The next morning I told the receptionist about this but the same evening again loud music after 11 PM. Although the room is quite nice and they provide ear plugs (now I know why) it doesn't compensate for the noise. The reception is not answering the phone, I called 3 times. There is no safe. There is no elevator, you have to walk to the 1st floor for your room. I stayed in suite #9 there supposed to be tea making facilities which there weren't. The breakfast is very simple, only cheese and ham for savoury. Ham doesn't look appealing. I would not stay for a 2nd time here. EUR 165 per night...
