Tim's Tea House Cafe — Restaurant in Ampang Jaya Municipal Council

Visitted last Sunday. WHAT A BIG LET DOWN. Tried their Afternoon tea set for 2,added extra for drinks as there were 3 of us. I made the order at 5.19pm. We only got our tea set nearing 6pm. In the meantime,no one made any attempt to explain the delay, especially the cashier who took the order. Other patrons who came after us got their meals and left while we waited for a ridiculously long time to what should have been an 'assembled food on a fancy tray' . Halfway thru waiting,my husband asked the cashier who was just walking up and down how long more will it take, only to receive a disgruntled reply from him. Yet we still had to wait another 20 mins after that to finally receive the food.

Finger sandwich barely had any filling and tasted sweet. Scones and the cream puff was okay,nothing great. Loved the lemon curd like cake (the only nice thing in the whole set - besides the scones and cream puff ) The choc hazelnut cake was dry, below average! Disappointed! Pie and mac and cheese - average ?? Panna cotta - tasted horrible!the jelly layer on top tasted like fake ?strawberry I would say. And the panna cotta itself had a weird texture to it.

I noticed from their ad on insta, we were supposed to get a pavlova, but it was replaced with the cream puff. Again,noone informed us of the replacement - to which I wouldn't have be so annoyed had I gotten my order sooner.

We paid rm 110 for this afternoon tea set, which honestly is not worth the money at all. Another nearby table who also ordered the same set for two received 2 different types of cakes, ours was the lemon cake and the hazelnut choc cake. Both their cakes looked better, compared to my 1 nice cake.

Why no same standard for all afternoon tea for 2 set? They too received their tea set after waiting for a long time like us,only that they had ordered other ala carte dishes as well and were lucky to get their stomachs filled.

Will I visit again? Probably not. It's a shame though because they had varieties of cake on display and some really looked good. If only the food matches the price and the service was faster, -and friendlier, this place would have been the top of my list as it has got all the perfect aesthetics that brings out the old English charm,but sadly it is all show and poor in service and food quality.

Guess I'll stick just to another tea place which is only a stone's throw away from this place -Miss Ellies tea house,good and quality food,best scones and best service and also has the same old English charm. The money you're paying should match the service and food qualitu in...

Good place. Masuk2 je pintu kedai rasa macam dalam mimpi! I was like apsal lawa sangat? I think it's worth a try. If i ever return I'm gonna try other menu and probably try out the other branch nearby (yang nama dia ada terrace tu)

Atmosphere - Tenang betul vibes kedai ni. Tak huru hara, deco nice and flowery macam taman. Memang betulla macam bridgerton themed cafe.

Hot food - We ordered carbonara and chicken lasagna. Taste wise okay la so so. They're not bad, still edible but there's nothing like a wow effect or something that makes them taste significantly good. Chicken lasagna is good sebab ada chips but beef lasagna i ordered take away takde chips tu, sedihh. Kalau nak chips memang kena order chicken lasagna kot. Carbonara rasa biasa je.

Cakes - Wanted to try the kunafa cheese cake tapi takde harini so we tried salted caramel cake and rose pistachio. Hmmm the buttercream for caramel cake tu tak pukul betul2, still got that grainy texture cebisan gula yang turn off and extremely sweet so it's not nice. But the rose pistachio, I tell you, sedap gilaaaa weh. 1st makan belum rasa lagi, but suddenly that rose scent + pistachio hit = seriously good!

Service - Semua friendly and despite banyak order muka semua ada senyummm. But 1-2 staffs are not attentive even when there were not many customers. Angkat tangan atau panggil and sebut excuse me banyak kali diorang tak perasan. So i had to raise my voice a bit to catch their attention (sorry!) or walked to them to ask for things. But i dont blame them la sebab kat situ customers have to order at the counter so they don't really expect customers to call them over. No issues here, totally understand. Lagipun maybe short staffed kot.

Food preparation time - dine in memang cepat dapat, few minutes dah siap semua masa belum busy hour. But takeaway will have to wait for a bit. Understandable sebab ada staff situ baik sangat dia explain the delay pastu siap pergi check kat kitchen and came back to me to update.

Price - Surprisingly affordable, considering such extensive decorations, good vibes, good staffs, beautiful and...

I attend this cafe during moreh in Ramadhan 2025..

It is my first time ever, after so long I want to go since 2015.. I previously work nearby Melawati but I never ever had a chance to experience their food.. I keep on postponed until 2025 (10 years later).. This area is already full with car, plus never ever ending traffic jammed.. I hate it so much..

Finally, they keep on posting in social media about their shops and they extended their operations hour during Ramadhan..

Alhamdulillah, what a coincidences..

Back to the topic.. I went here with my friend.. So, here's list what we have ordered =

❤️Peach strudel Rm14 Cream cheese + lots of peaches + crispy and soft

❤️Medovik Cake Rm16 This is my first ever Russian cake.. So i don't know the exact taste.. But the medovik cake is so NICE.. not so sweet.. the taste is just perfect.. THIS IS MY GO-TO CAKE..

❤️Creme Brulee Rm10 I have no words.. just perfect.. 🙆🙆🙆

❤️Tiramisu Cheesecake Rm20 Please try.. this is a cheesecake version.. they also have tiramisu cake (no cheese) .. so choose wisely if you dislike cheesecake..

❤️Carrott Walnut Cake Rm14 Mmmm it is okay.. overall it is nice.. but i have a better place for this carrot cake..🤭🤫

Overall, it really does taste delicious Yes.. I WANT TO REPEAT AGAIN 🙆🙆🙆🙆🙆🙆🙆🙆🙆

I do hope their price will maintain, their quality will maintain.. So, I can buy more and more and more without any...
