Hoo Yuan Restaurant 河源 (龙川) 茶餐室 — Restaurant in Borneo

This place is… meh? To say the least.

The food is nice don’t get me wrong (especially their wa tan hor). It feels so kinda bland? Nothing much special since most of the kopitiam in Malaysia are like it but who am I to say?

Service was meh. You’d have to get your own cutleries at the designated spot and the staff were sometimes unresponsive.

Atmosphere was meh too. Since it was basically your own ordinary kopitiam. Budget-wise it isn’t that good since the duck took quite a while and in my opinion kinda expensive.

Overall, some needs...

Had cny eve dinner there n disappointed with service... Waited for from 730pm+ to 9pm+ only 5 dishes out of 8/9.. Foods was good but our appetite was gone... We took the package dinner with add on more dishes... I know very busy but at least u the captain should go round checking if the table had fully dishes on the table or not... Told them why delay n in return we didn't pay full amount but paid half n got a free kau yuk 🤣 so the owner don't cut your staff gaji not their fault, it's your fault not monitor the table...

Price is reasonable and cheaper than other restaurants. The food is delicious. Happened that i ordered/ da bao Corn soup. The corn soup without taste of corn, but more to sour & weird taste, i guess they put vinegars and other ingredients. And the rice is super sticky, just like 罗米. Maybe the Chef not in mood that day.

Update Sept 2022 : Beside weird taste, the chef seriously need to becareful on his cooking. I dabao a mixed vege with pork rice. The pork not...
