Jin Yin Hao 真仁好 — Restaurant in Borneo

Dropped in for early dinner yesterday to try some recommended dishes. We had the braised pork ball, the tofu, seaweed and crab meat soup and the cheesy lychee shrimp ball. We also had their home brewed chrysanthemum tea. The food portions are generous, the food presentation is pretty, I was excited for the cheesy lychee shrimp ball bonsai and I was not disappointed. The balls were flavourful and crispy. So good. Price wise, I would say matches the food quality and portion. And I would say affordable . We are big eaters but I think each portion is good for a group of 3 people. The shop is small, but it was nice to sit outside and watch the clouds change as the sun sets. The proprietor was patient with us as well, eventhough he had to keep coming out a few times because we took time to scan the menu. Smallish restaurant so booking is recommended. We arrived about 7pm on a Tuesday night for a dinner. Waitstaff did their best to accommodate us as we didn't have any booking so we had to site outside of the restaurant. We ordered a range of dishes from claypot vegetables, yam soup, braised pork dish and Asam fish. All dishes were spot on, delicious, very nicely plated and presented and came out quickly. In addition to this, we decided to order the cheesy lychee cheese balls (more of a work of art). This is an interesting novelty served on an ornamental tree (like a bonsai tree), which made for some good photos and tastes just like cheese balls. I would definitely head back and try their yam rings and corn fed chicken. Place for some reason reminds me of a Michelin star restaurants, they are more creative and adventurous with their dishes. Got to know this place from a Facebook post. The food pictures were amazing. And so I decided to come here for a taste. I waited outside this restaurant for a short while as it close between 2:30pm-5pm. And here is my review: Communication? The staffs were polite and very alert with customers. Greeting? Yes... The food? Amazing..! The portion? Very generous. Time to serve? Ngam.. Food presentation? Very nicely garnished with fresh materials. Cleanliness & Tidiness? Superb. Charges? With the quality served to customers, I think it is selfish to ask for lower charges. Food options? Many.. I and a friend could only eat 4 different dishes during our visit.
