Most of the reviews were given by non-Malaysians (that should mean something) and none of my friend mentions about this place. But my dad was keen to give this place a try so off we went.
Reached there close to 7pm it was pretty empty. However we were given a table near the entrance. When asked if we could sit further inside, we were told fully booked. Interaction with the lady who took our order was ok.
Not long after, tons of tour busses came and offloaded few groups of Koreans. They were immediately seated inside and the restaurant turned lively. And it turned out we were the only locals there. Oops 上车了 🙂
After 40 minutes, no food came. But all tables surrounding ours including the tour guides were already eating away. Asked for our food a few times, we were told coming soon coming soon coming soonnnnnn.
Finally, 酸菜鱼 came. A tad oily but pretty tasty. Then 2 soggy looking fried rice came as a pair of twins. We ordered 扬州炒饭 and 咸鱼炒饭 but they look exactly the same. Fried (soggy) rice, thumbs down. Then the classic 滑蛋河 came. 河粉 white colour, gravy transparent. One glance, waste of calories kind of food. This must be a first in Kk. True enough, whole plate was left almost untouched. 腐乳vege is super salty. They were perhaps being overly generous with the 腐乳 but I wonder what was the chef thinking? They did offer a replacement but we turned down. 烤鸭 or was it 脆皮鸭 came and yet another soggy dish. 皮 is far from 脆. Tofu dish was sour.
It was not a pleasant dining experience at all. The lady boss looked at us from far and only went over to the groups of tour guides but did not bother to understand our feedback. Of course, she should entertain those who bring her business and not those fussy locals.
Tbh, price is reasonable but please do yourselves a favor just 叫菜吃饭 at kedai kopi also happier.

I came across a review on Facebook and decided to bring my family to try this place. We ordered fish noodle soup, scallion oil noodle, and dim sum. To our delight, everything exceeded our expectations!
The fish noodle soup impressed us with its fresh fish slices and well-flavored broth. The use of Guilin rice noodles added a unique touch to the dish.
The scallion noodle had a rich scallion aroma, and the noodles were cooked just right. Though some Char Siew slices were a bit tough to bite, it didn't overshadow the overall enjoyment.
The dim sum, made with pork, was fresh, tender, and allowed us to savor the meat's delightful texture.
The comfortable environment, polite and attentive staff, and reasonable prices made the experience even more enjoyable. We'll definitely return for dinner another day. Highly...
Read moreWe had our recent 2024 Christmas dinner here with 13 adults and 5 kids. Definitely book ahead! The food was great, especially the seafood—really fresh and tasty, though it’s not the cheapest. It seems to be a popular spot for tourists, probably one of the go-to seafood restaurants in the area.
The service was awesome. The captain was super patient with all my questions, and the food came out really fast—9 dishes served together within 30 minutes of ordering. Bonus points for listening to my request to devein the butter prawns—I wouldn’t have enjoyed them otherwise. Really...
