Our experience at Eulogeo Cafe was extremely disappointing. Despite the place being only 20% occupied, the staff members were standing around the counter, chatting loudly and not attending to customers. Even after taking our orders and holding our credit card, they got distracted by their colleagues and engaged in a conversation, leaving us waiting. We ordered coffees, frappes, wings, and 2 ice creams to share. When I asked for 2 more ice cream bowls, they gave me paper ice cream cups instead, which didn't make sense since we were consuming them in the cafe, not taking them out. It seemed like they were trying to save on dishwashing by providing environmentally unfriendly paper cups to their customers.
The issues didn't end there. Both the male and female restrooms, located outside the cafe, were out of toilet paper. I didn't want to approach the staff for anything else, so I took a tissue box from one of the empty tables. When I returned, a young man came up to me holding a toilet paper roll and told me that if I needed toilet paper, I should have asked them and that taking the tissue box out was unhygienic. To make matters worse, he took the tissue box away and returned to his comfort zone, making us feel disrespected as customers. It was incredibly impolite for him to lecture us on such a minor matter. Later on, we discovered that the toilets still hadn't been restocked with toilet paper, so what was the point of giving advice if they weren't going to follow it? The restrooms were also unclean, with wet floors and shoe prints everywhere.
I'm really puzzled by why some business owners spend so much money and effort building a nice restaurant and yet hire people who just end up driving the business into the ground with their bad service and attitude. Honestly, I'm not sure if training would even make a difference if the staff don't care about their jobs, the company, or the customers they're supposed to be looking out for. Complete lack of appreciation and self respect. On a brighter note, it's pretty cool to see Kota Kinabalu getting some new, modern spots that make it feel like a big city.
Overall, the attitudes of the staff, especially the young man who felt entitled to lecture customers, were completely unacceptable. Given the abundance of nice cafes in the city, we will not be returning to Eulogeo Cafe and will not recommend it to...

Read moreA cafe tucked away on a church compound at Likas. Quiet and clean if you want to chat with friends or family. Semi self service. Ordered at counter and food will be delivered. ORDERED....... Big Breakfast with Scramble Eggs (Your have choice of Sunny Side if you prefer). Cheese sausage, sauteed mushroom and eggs cook and seasoned nicely. Another slice of bacon would be nice. Verdict - 4.5/5
Hunter Steak. They didnt asked for the "doneness" of the steak. But it was cooked to well done, which made the meat a bit tough. Expecting sauteed vegies, but salad was served. Anyways, the seasoning just nice. But for the price cant complain much. Verdict - 3.5/5
Matcha Frappe. Initially wanted to order Latte, but was informed by the staff that the milk is not that fresh. Well done. At least they are honest upfront. Verdict - 4/5
This should be the attitude of food operator. If items not fresh or available, tell the patron upfront. It will be much appreciated rather than when the food is not up to par you want to defend when...
