Sushi Mentai — Restaurant in Borneo

This restaurant consistently serves some of the best sushi I’ve ever had. The sushi is always freshly prepared, flavorful, and of excellent quality — each bite is a delight.

The environment is comfortable and generally pleasant, though I find the seating arrangement a bit cramped, as the tables are placed quite close to each other. A little more space between tables would enhance the dining experience.

Customer service here is exceptional. The waitstaff/waitress are extremely friendly, attentive, and welcoming. I would gladly give them 5 stars, or even more if possible. Their hospitality is one of the main reasons I continue to return and remain a loyal regular customer.

However, I have noticed some inconsistency in the kitchen’s preparation time. While the sushi is worth the wait, the preparation can sometimes take 30 minutes to over an hour, which can be challenging during busy periods. I hope the kitchen team can improve efficiency, as faster service would make the experience even more outstanding.

Coming on a Sunday approximately 11.30 a.m. can see the parking is almost all full, but got places still.

Expectations: Coming in, just wanted to eat some.japanese food. Not really looking for authenticity, just some tasty dishes at an affordable price.

Experience: Coming in the place is also almost all packed. In one hour the food is served.

Order: Sitting alone the dish ordered were 1x Kaki fried, 1x Spider don, and 1x unagi

Taste review: Unagi a bit too much soy sauce on it, but does the job. The oyster deep fried is crispy and tasty with the taste very much like oyster. I like it with the mayo. Wow the spider don has like deep fried veggies and bits on the rice. The oiliness is out of this world but tasty still.

Overall review Give it about 3.5 can round up to 4 out of 5. You come here like how you would want to go to sushi king like you want to spend some money but not a lot of money for Japanese food...

The atmosphere was good but they play english song even though it is a japanese restaurant. The staff are polite and the service was good and fast. The staff greeted me in japanese even though i am chinese not japanese but i am okay. The food on the conveyor belt was good to eat but i ate corn sushi and it was sour so my stomach hurts a bit. The chicken and egg don was the best thing on the menu but it came with miso soup which should be renamed miso poop because it was so watery and not good. The salmon head was not cooked well and the eyes blinked at me when i look at it. They are very generous with ice for the genmaicha. Takoyaki anf tofu was good to eat. They are very very very generous with rice, i think i will poop out a whole rice paddy tonight, enough to feed my ancestors and the whole of china and malaysia combined. Terriyaki chicken was fine, sexy even but if you want real chicken go to cocksmore across the street. Overall good place and i would go back again 👍 way better than...
