Previously occupied by Papartown, this place is already strategic with ample parking lots.
The ambience is great, topped by scenic tropical wallpapers as feature walls with new furnishings and bright fixtures all around. Right when we came, they have a local classical, black and white movie playing on projector screens, but not sure why they had loud retro music on speakers turned on the same time though.
Was told the grand opening will be in March later, so the available menu is temporary but already packed with delectable options. However, lacking A-La Carte options seems to suffer there, single or couple customers didn't have much to pick from.
The sweet sour fish and wan tan hor were delish. Portion is superb! Service was great. Waitresses were readily able to assist and stationed around the premise.
Price-wise though, I can say OVERPRICED. Iced Chinese Tea (or by the menu, Ceylon Tea) priced at RM2 a glass. Even the sweet sour fish priced RM19 (or RM18, can't recall). Going here, prices are pricier than most restaurants. Not sure the strategy, but perhaps to test the market. The owner should be repricing some of their items, in my opinion.
All in, 4 out 5. Will have to try again once their menu...
Read moreI just want to share my first experience here in tamar rindu. As we decided to celebrate my mother’s birthday in this restaurant but sadly I would not recommend this restaurant ,if you just want to have a small and simple birthday celebration with your family. The restaurant has a very strict “no outside food or drinks” policy. We had already ordered a large portion of food and drinks from the restaurant, but when we finished eating and wanted to cut the birthday cake as traditions ( small cake brought from outside) . We asked the waiter for small plate for the cake but the waiter told us “no outside food or drinks” policy so she not gonna entertain our request . In the end, we had to keep the cake back in the box and bring it back home instead. Eat it with fewer family members who initially want to celebrate together ,this experience kinda spoiled our moment and quality time together and the initial purpose of celebrating.
Overall , I respect their policy and The first 2 waiters are nice and friendly. (3 waiters who serve us) I just want to share my experience here so others can plan ahead if they wish to celebrate a small occasion...
Read moreFirst of all, the 5-star friendly staff is really one of the welcoming reason why you need to experience at least one to this restaurant. Rarely see manager and the server with smiley face throughout our entire dinner, you just cant find another place with this kind of good attitude.
Secondly, food was definitely above average, especially the curry fish that we ordered, well-cooked and the fragrant of the curry is so appetising. I could finish a bowl of rice with just the curry itself. Not forget to mention other dish such as the deep fried chicken (delicious), honey lamb (roasted smell very nice), sayur manis with egg and also belacan kangkung (better than 90% of the restaurant in KK).
Overall, that was such a good dinner, ending by new dessert presented by the owner, very special coconut dessert, not just the ordinary coconut pudding. Also, my parents thumbs up is like rare gem but this time they put their thumb all the way up. Will definitely visit again, rindu sangat the taste!!
Only able to take 2 photos, too excited after seeing...
