Double Spoon — Restaurant in George Town

There has been by now a lot of good reviews, and indeed it is a top-restaurant in its category. We went on a rainy evening, but there are tables which are under a 'roof', so no worries - but the concept of dining in a garden remains as plants everywhere. We also needed to chat and we have been allowed all the time needed, no pressure to leave. Very friendly service.

As to food: I tried the double spoon lambsoup and that was very tasty. The lady boss came to make sure I knew it had been slowly boiled for hours. The meat very succulent and a firm broth. My eating partners went for the Cajun chicken pasta and grilled chicken bbq sauce. Both dishes looked very appealing and they confirmed that they were also very tasty. With all the recommendations for the milkshakes, we tried the signature avocado milkshake (would never have guessed avocado as a milkshake...) and the double chocolate milkshake. The avocado milkshake is creamy and very soft of taste. Both raved about it. My double (belgian) chocolate was also very good.

By now you there is a universal QR code, so one can pay with e-wallets, no need for cash only anymore.

The whole experience from surroundings and food as well as friendly service made it a relaxed and very enjoyable evening out. Highly recommended if you are for...

HUGE decline in quality and service the last few years.

When they opened their pizzas and service was impeccable . Fast forward two years later ,their quality of food is far worse and more than that their service is typical asian and not modern forward thinking.

Went there for an avocado milkshake two weeks ago,and was given a CHOCOLATE avocado mix.

I was very upset and spoke nicely to the Manageress who admitted too much chocolate was put in but said she couldn’t change it for me.

I told her I know avocados in malaysia is pricey but their mistake should be rectified by giving me what I ordered.

She couldn’t think buying her young in experienced brain and decided to be typical local and say sorry,but say that that is the drink I should pay for.

I did it,and now will never return. You pay...

Was stuck in the jam on our way home and found this little gem! A nice nature set up surrounded by plants. It was raining heavily but thankfully there's covered seatings!

Everyone was friendly and the owner took the time to explain/recommend their famous dishes. We had mushroom soup and a beef salad with a cup of coffee and ginger lemongrass tea! Everything was just perfect during the time! So refreshing and So so good! We would have ordered more stuff if we were hungry!

We were given a little token of chocolate cake too! Which was really nice!

Will be back to try other foods when we visit...
